State Golf from Monday

The State ‘A’ Boys Golf Tournament got underway yesterday in Rapid City. Tea Area enters day two with a one stroke lead in the team standings over St. Thomas More while Chamberlain is tied for fifth and nine shots off the lead. Nick Lust of St. Thomas More sits atop the individual leaderboard entering play today as he shot a 74 on Monday, two shots ahead of Brock Murphy of Tea and Brett Mattson of Lead-Deadwood. Chamberlain’s top golfer on Monday was Adam Hutmacher, who shot an 82. Danny Sazue of Chamberlain shot an 83 while his teammate Cameron Caldwell carded an 84.  Todd County’s Bryce Hammer shot a 98 while Thomas Denoyer of St. Francis carded a 104. Play will resume at 10am central time this morning.

Vikings look for another win tonight!

The undefeated Minnesota Vikings will be back inside their new stadium tonight for Monday Night Football! Mike Zimmer’s team will battle Eli Manning and the one loss New York Giants. Remember tomorrow, Chris and a local Vikings fan will talk all things Vikings football on ‘Vikings Visit’! The program will come your way at around 3:45 tomorrow afternoon on Country 1260 and at around 7:10 tomorrow night on 93.7FM. Preview for Todd County at Chamberlain Football game tomorrow!

Tomorrow night, the Chamberlain Cubs will take on the Todd County Falcons in the river city on Homecoming night! The Cubs (3-1) will look to bounce back after the loss to Winner last week. Chamberlain has scored wins this season over Crow Creek, Little Wound and Red Cloud. The Cubs sit in second place in the Region 3 standings in 11B behind the Winner Warriors with 41.250 seed points. They will finish their regular season with games against the Falcons, at St. Francis, at Aberdeen Roncalli then home against Cheyenne-Eagle Butte. Bob Kornely’s Falcons (2-3) fell to Cheyenne-Eagle Butte last Friday, 34-14. Todd County will look to snap their current two game skid after they had wins earlier this season against Pine Ridge and Crow Creek. The Falcons have 38 seed points in Class 11A. Chamberlain won last year’s regular season meeting against Todd County in Mission, 30-14. Pre-game coverage tomorrow night on Magic 93 will start at around 6:30!
