Friday State Track and Field highlights

Day 2 of State Track and Field wrapped up Friday at Howard Wood Field in Sioux Falls. Here’s a look at some of the local highlights:  

Autumn Baker of Kimball/White Lake was runner up in the girls Class B 2 mile run in 11:39:77. Her teammates, Lily Baker and Alli McCord were fourth and fifth respectively. Sophia Bauld of Burke was sixth, while her teammate, Kailee Frank was 9th.

  • Grace Phillips of Chamberlain was 9th in the girls class A 2 mile run in 11:52:63
  • Luke Barretto of Gregory was 10th in the boys class B two mile run in 10:16:32.
  • In the girls Class B 800, Autumn Baker of Kimball/White Lake placed seventh in 2:23:63.
  • In the boys class B 800, Jones County’s Adrik Schoon was runner up in 1:59. Finn Adams of Gregory was fifth in 2:01:44.
  • In the girls class B high jump, Burke’s Emily Diekmann was sixth overall with a leap of 5 flat.
  • In the girls class A discus, Piper Powell of Chamberlain was eighth with a throw of 117-02.
  • In the girls class b javelin, Gregory’s Dani VanDerWerff placed fifth with a throw of 120-03.
  • In the boys class B High Jump, Gregory’s Colt Keiser was runner up along with Aksel Ehlers of Lyman, as both guys finished with jumps of 6-2, and Dawsen Volmer of Lyman was eighth with a leap of 5-10.
  • In the boys class b javelin, Gregory’s Cole Serr was runner up with a throw of 165-06.. Gunner Watson of White River was fifth with a 156-06 throw, and Jackson Bolander of Gregory was ninth with a throw of 150-07.
  • In the boys class b pole vault, Lyman’s Aksel Ehlers was fourth with a 12-09.
  • In the boys class A 800, Winner’s Kellen Brozik was 12th in a time of 2:00:96, and his teammate, Karson Keiser, was 17th in a time of 2:03:39.

Highlights from day 1 of State Track and Field Thursday in Sioux Falls

Paige Bull of Burke won a state championship in the girls class b discus as she finished first overall with a throw of 141-11

The Winner boys sprint medley relay team finished third overall in Class A in a time of 3:38:43. The time was .43 off the school record.

The Winner boys 4X8 relay team finished fourth in 8:15:68.

In the boys class B 110 meter hurdle prelims, Lyman’s Cole Keiffer had the sixth fastest time in 16:29.

In the boys class a 110 meter hurdle prelims, Winner’s Austin Blare had the 8th fastest time in 15.75

In the girls class b 4×8 relay, Kimball/White Lake placed third in 10:07:99.

In the boys class b 4×8 relay, Jones County placed fourth in 8:36:23

In the girls class b 100 prelims, Lyman’s Brooke Montgomery had the third fastest time in 12.59.

In the boys class a 100 prelims, Carson Vanden Berge had the seventh fastest time in 11:30.

In the boys class b 4X1 relay prelims, Gregory had the fourth fastest time in 44:39.

In the boys class a 4×1 relay prelims, Platte/Geddes had the fourth fastest time in 43:57.

In the girls class b 1600 sprint medley relay, Burke was fourth in 4:19:56

In the boys class b 1600 sprint medley relay, Gregory finished third in 3:38:83. Jones County was fourth in 3:40:16.Kimball/White Lake was sixth in 3:43:52.

Jones County’s Asa Best was 7th in the boys class b long jump with a leap of 20-09.50

Gregory’s Regan Graesser finished eighth in the girls class b long jump with a leap of 16-02.75
