Benefit for Brittney Hansen to happen Saturday

A drowning out colon cancer benefit event for Brittney Hansen will be held on Saturday, August 11th at the Pheasant Bar in Winner. There will be many items to be raffled off along with a silent auction. A free will dinner will start at 6:30 with hamburgers, baked beans, potato salad and chips, along with Outlaw DJ playing at 9pm. If you would like to donate items for the auction, please contact the Pheasant Bar or Marty’s. All proceeds will go to Brittney to assist with medical and living expenses.

Farm and Ranch clinic coming up

Farmers and Ranchers are invited to attend a free clinic in Valentine on Thursday, August 23rd. The clinic are one-on-one, not group sessions, and are confidential. The Farm Finance Clinic gives you a chance to meet with an experienced ag law attorney and an ag financial counselor. Paul Storms benefit to happen tonight

A grinding away at cancer benefit for Paul Storms will be held tonight at St. Mary’s Hall in Winner. Doors will open at 5:30 with a free will offering dinner beginning at 6pm as they will be serving hamburgers, hot dogs, baked beans and chips. If you would like to donate a pie or an auction item please call DB’s Bait& Tackle at 840-1232, Vicki at the Styling Hut at 840-9807 or Colleen at 842-5471. Items may also be dropped off at these locations.

Mid Dakota Fair schedule for Friday

The Mid Dakota Fair is underway for day three! The 4-H Swine, Sheep and Market Goat Shows start at 8am. At noon are the Goat Showmanship and Dairy Goat Shows. At 12:30 is the Dairy Cattle Show. Youth inflatable games will be offered from 11-7, the vendor show runs from noon-7, the home raised beef show happens at 3pm, the market and breeding beef shows start at 4. The free family fun night festivities start at 5 as a community appreciation picnic runs until 7. The pedal tractor pull happens at 5. A face painting for youth will be offered from 5-7, the corn on the cob eating contest starts at 7 and Ag Olympics happen at 7:30 at the Tripp County 4-H Grounds.

Mid Dakota Fair events for Thursday

The Mid Dakota Fair continues today at the Tripp County 4-H Grounds. The Comp. Animal and Cat Show along with the Rabbit Show starts at 9am. Rocket preparation will start at 11:30 in the 4-H Center. The rocket launch will happen at 12:30. The livestock judging contest will happen at 1pm for sheep, swine and goat in the arena. The public presentation finals happen at 3 along with a youth grill-off at 4. The dog show starts at 5:15 and the 4-H talent focus event is at 6pm. An ice cream social will take place at 6:30 and a 4-H Fashion Revue wraps up the night at 7pm.

Mid Dakota Fair gets underway Wednesday

The Mid Dakota Fair will get underway this afternoon in Winner! From 4-7:30 will be the entering of the open class exhibits. At 5pm, there will be a 4-H Judge/Committee orientation. From 5-7 there will be a consumer decision making contest. From 5:15-7:30, they will enter and interview judging of 4-H static projects. From 5-7, individuals will bring in silent auction items. From 7-8:30, they will setup all livestock facilities and check-in poultry and rabbits at the Tripp County 4-H Grounds.

Dog Daze Street Dance set for Saturday!

The Burke Men’s Association Dog Daze Street Dance will be held this Saturday, August 4th! The opening act will be “11 Year New” playing from 7 to 9pm. Dustin Evans & the Good Times Band will then play from 9 to 1. Advance tickets are ten dollars and can be purchased at Stella’s, Green’s Grocery and at the Burke Building Center. Tickets at the gate will cost fifteen dollars.
