Kucera is sentenced
This afternoon at the Federal Courthouse in Pierre, the sentencing of 67 year old Richard Alan Kucera of Winner took place.
For Count 1 of Sex Trafficking of a child, Richard received the minimum sentence of 10 years.
For Count 2 of Sex Trafficking of a child, Richard received the minimum of 10 years.
Counts 1 and 2 will run concurrent to each other.
For count 3 of Production of Child Pornography, Richard received the minimum of 15 years.
For Count 4 of Production of Child Pornography, Richard received the minimum of 15 years.
Counts 3 and 4 will run concurrent to each other and consecutive to Counts 1 and 2.
Kucera was found guilty of two counts of Sex Trafficking of a Child and two counts of Production of Child Pornography following a four-day federal jury trial in Pierre in July.
Scholastic Book Fair in Gregory this week
The Scholastic Book Fair will be setup in the Gregory Library from 8am to 3:30 Monday through Thursday this week, and again on Friday from 8am to 6pm. Students are welcome to signup for a drawing after making a purchase.
Craft and Vendor Fair coming up next weekend in Springview
The 16th annual Springview Hometown Holiday Craft and Vendor Fair will take place on Saturday, October 25th from 10am-3pm at the Keya Paha County High School and Grade School. The Hog Trough from Valentine will be providing the concession stand and there will be approximately 50 vendors to explore!
Witten Firemen holding hunter’s breakfast this weekend and next
The Witten Volunteer Fire Department is holding their annual free will hunter’s breakfast today and tomorrow, and again on October 25th and 26th from 7 to 11am at the Witten Community Hall. They will be serving pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage biscuits with gravy and more!

Hunter’s Breakfast coming up this weekend in Winner
A hunters breakfast will take place this weekend at the Tripp County 4-H Center in Winner on Saturday and Sunday from 7 to 11am. It’s all for a free will offering as they will be serving up pancakes, ham, sausage, eggs, coffee, milk and juice.
Blood Drive set for tomorrow in Presho

Benefit happening today for Dean Burger
A benefit lunch for Dean Burger will take place today from 11am to 2pm at the Ritz Plaza on Main Street in Winner. They will be serving a pulled pork sandwich meal, along with pulled pork nachos, super nachos for $12 each. All of the proceeds will support Dean as he recovers from cardiac arrest.
