The Chamberlain/Oacoma Ice Fishing Tournament will be held on Saturday, January 20th. A rules meeting will take place on Friday, the 19th at Cedar Shore Resort. There will be a public meeting for wildlife disease surveillance, due to the confirmed case of bovine tuberculosis in local beef herd on Wednesday, January 17th starting at 7pm at the Colome American Legion. The public is invited to attend. Also on the 17th, the Winner Country Club will hold it’s annual meeting with food and social at 6pm and the meeting time is 7pm. Two board members will be elected.

A Boy Scout soup supper will be held on Monday, January 29th at St. Mary’s Hall in Winner from 5:30 to 7:30pm. They will be serving chicken noodle, chili and homemade desserts. Ages twelve and up get in for five dollars and eleven and under can enjoy for four dollars. The event is sponsored by the Winner Boy Scout Troop 100 g roup. The Platte Livestock Market will hold a hog, sheep, goat and horse sale starting at 1pm this afternoon with the sheep and goats. The horse sale will follow with the tack at 4:30 and horses at 5. Also keep in mind that the Herrick Board of Trustees meeting for tonight has been postponed to January 15th at 7pm at the Herrick American Legion Hall.

The Helping Hands Community Food Pantry in Platte is asking the community to help with stocking the food pantry in the month of January. Items or donations can be dropped off on Wednesday’s from 1-4 at the food pantry or in the blue food pantry totes at various churches in the community.
