The Colome School District held an election yesterday regarding the general fund opt out resolution of $400,000 for the next five years. There were 175 yes votes that voted in favor of the opt out. There were 79 no votes that opposed the opt out. With those votes tallied up, the opt out passed. The School Board will canvass at a July meeting to make it official.

It’s Election Day for the Colome School District. The School will be holding an opt out election, as voters will decide to vote for or against the opt out resolution that was passed and referred to the residents of the School District. Polls are open from 7am to 7pm at the Colome Fire Hall.

Ribfest results from Saturday in Gregory
THE GREGORY/DALLAS CHAMBER HELD THEIR ANNUAL RIBFEST EVENT ON SATURDAY AT THE GREGORY CITY PARK. THE FIRST PLACE FINISHER FOR PORK BUTT WENT TO THE BCB SMOKERS. FIRST PLACE IN BRISKET WENT TO OPPERATION SMOKE. FIRST PLACE FOR PORK RIBS WENT TO THE CASUAL SMOKERS. CHICKEN/PEOPLE CHOICE WENT TO MARK BRAUN.
Swimming Lessons to happen next month in Bonesteel

Rosebud Shrine Circus in Winner tonight!
The 70th annual Rosebud Shrine Circus will be held at the Tripp County Fairgrounds in Winner tonight. There will be one performance at 8pm. Tickets are available at Winner True Value and at Bankwest. Concessions will be provided on the grounds. There will also be circus novelties for the kids too!
Cedar Shore in Oacoma to host event next week
The South Dakota CEO East Women’s Business Center will hold a building momentum women in business event on June 26th starting at 10:30am at Cedar Shore Resort in Oacoma. There will be several different speakers as they celebrate women making a difference in the community.
Burke Pink Ladies to hold Poker Run next weekend
The Burke Pink Ladies will hold a poker run on June 28th beginning at Bill’s Bar. The ride will begin at Noon. Entry fee is $20 per person and $10 per extra hand. A meal and corn hole tournament will follow the poker run at Bill’s Bar.
