Applications being accepted for Rosebud dorms

Applications for enrollment into the Rosebud dorm for the 2016-2017 school year can be picked up at the Rosebud dorm in Mission. Applications can be picked up on a daily basis Monday through Thursday from 8am-5pm, and on Friday from 8am-Noon. Registration for the school year will be held on August 9th, 10th and the 11th this week. If you want more information you can call 605-856-4486.

Orientation coming up in Winner

Winner Middle School orientation for students entering grades 6-8 will be held on Thursday, August 18th starting at 6pm at the Winner Armory. Students will receive schedules and other information during the meeting. Students and parents will also be able to visit classrooms and check out lockers. Any questions call the office at 842-8125.

Reminders for the week

The Presho Chamber of Commerce will meet on Thursday, August 11th at Hutch’s Cafe in Presho starting at noon.The Valentine City Council will meet on Thursday, August 11th starting at 7pm in the meeting room of the Valentine Public Library. Effective this Friday, August 12th, the Gregory County Veteran Service Office will be open every Friday from 8am-Noon and from 1-5 and will not be open on Monday’s.

Teener Baseball for Sunday

The State ‘A’ Teener Baseball Tournament will come to a close tonight in Lennox. Things will get underway at noon as Irene will play Canova/Salem for the consolation championship. At around 2:30, Winner will play for third place as they take on Madison. Coverage will be on 93.7FM. At 5:30, Beresford will take on Dell Rapids for the championship. The Class ‘B’ Teener State Tournament will wrap up in White Lake tonight. At noon, Emery will play Leola/Frederick for the consolation championship. Selby will play Kimball/White Lake at 2:30 for third place while Tyndall will take on Baltic for the championship at around 5:30.

Movies at our drive-in theatres!

Showing tonight through Sunday at the Hilltop Drive-In on West Highway 18 in Gregory is the new Ghostbusters movie starring Melissa McCarthy! The movie is rated PG-13 and will start at dusk each of the three nights. Showing at the Winner Drive In will be “The Secret Life of Pets”, tonight through Monday. The movie is rated PG, and shows will start at dusk each night.

Great entertainment in Burke tomorrow!

Two shows for the price of one?! How can you beat that? The Dueling Duo Piano Show will be on Main Street in Burke tomorrow night from 7:30 to 9:30pm, and the Andy Gibson Band will then play from 10 to 1 during the Burke Men’s Association Street Dance! Food and beverages will be available during the big event, and no coolers please!

Reminders for today

The Merriam Midway Shows Carnival will get underway today in Chamberlain! The carnival will be setup through the weekend at the Avenue of Flags. Tomorrow, checkout downtown Chamberlain for the first Friday activities from 6 to 8pm. There will be great entertainment for the entire family all weekend long in the river cities! Also, there will be a blood drive in White Lake today. That drive will run from 3-6pm and will be taking place at the White Lake American Legion.

A big sale set for this weekend in Mission

Todd County sports apparel will be on sale this Saturday, August 6th! There will be basketball, football, and volleyball sweatpants and pullovers along with Falcon chairs. Prices range from $5 to $25. All of the proceeds will be donated to the Coaches Association. Also, Todd County physicals will be held on Saturday from 8am-4pm.

Checkout our area farmers markets!

The Burke Farmers Market will re-open tomorrow on Main Street! The market will be open from 4-6pm each and every Thursday through early October. TheĀ Chamberlain Farmers Market will be back open this Saturday from 8am-noon in the parking lot of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Chamberlain.
