The Mid Dakota Fair will take place at the Tripp County Fairgrounds July 29th through August 2nd. Events will include the 4-H Rocket Launch on July 30th, Stem Challenge on July 31st, The 4-H Swine, Sheep and Market Goat Shows will all happen on August 1st. The Breeding Beef and Market Beef Shows are some of the many things that will happen on August 2nd.

VBS to begin at Trinity Lutheran Church in Winner tomorrow
Trinity Lutheran Church in Winner will be hosting Vacation Bible School July 21st through the 24th. A meal will be served from 5:30 to 6pm, and lessons and crafts will happen from 6 to 7:30. The theme is ‘Soaring High’. To signup, call 842-1357.
All-School Reunion to happen August 9th in Wood
The Wood All-School Reunion is set for next month! The reunion will take place on Saturday, August 9th. It will take place inside the Wood Gym beginning at 5pm. There will be a silent auction at 5:30, and dinner will be served starting at 6pm that night.
Verdict reached in court case of the USA vs Richard Alan Kucera
In the court case of the USA vs Richard Alan Kucera, this morning started off with jury instructions at 10am. Following that, closing arguments began at approximately 10:40. Closing arguments were finished at 12:15. From there, the jury went into deliberations for approximately 3 and a half hours.
On the first count of sex trafficking a child, the jury found the defendant guilty.
On the second count of sex trafficking a child, the jury found the defendant guilty.
On the third count of sex trafficking a child, the jury found the defendant not guilty.
On the first count of production of child pornography, the jury found the defendant guilty.
On the second count of production of child pornography, the jury found the defendant guilty.
On the third count of child pornography, the jury found the defendant not guilty.
Mr. Kucera was immediately taken into custody following the verdict. A sentencing hearing will be scheduled in 60-90 days.
Tripp County 4-H Rodeo going on today
The 57th annual Tripp County 4-H Rodeo is happening today at the Tripp County Fairgrounds in Winner beginning at 9am. 22 events will be featured all throughout the day. Contestants will compete for a chance to qualify for the state finals in August in Fort Pierre.
