Cowboys-Chargers ready for 9B showdown

The 9B State Championship Game features two unbeaten teams who have dominated the opposition all season long- The Colome Cowboys and the Sully Buttes Chargers. Both teams enter Friday morning’s contest at the Dakota Dome with perfect records. Ben Connot’s Cowboys have been tough to stop as they are averaging over 330 rushing yards a game this season. Senior Jackson Kinzer has thrown for over 1,000 yards for Colome and he has ran for 1,266 yards this season. Jackson along with Riley Shippy and Chase Dufek are each averaging over ten yards per rushing attempt on the season. The Cowboys won their semifinal game over Wall last week, 74-28. The Chargers, like Colome, have enjoyed home field advantage throughout each round of the playoffs. They beat Hitchcock-Tulare in round one, 46-8. In the quarterfinals, the Chargers dominated Kadoka, 52-0 before they beat Faulkton in the semis, 48-14. Chris Doski will talk to both head coaches on tomorrow’s pre-game show starting at 9:10am on Magic 93.
