Football previews for Colome and Gregory Football

The Colome Cowboys and Gregory Gorillas will be back in action at home this Friday after both teams were idle last Friday.  The Cowboys will have their Homecoming game against the 2-1 Gayville/Volin Raiders. Gayville/Volin has scored wins over Centerville and Avon after they lost to Burke in week 1, 52-6. The Cowboys (3-0) have scored at least 50 points in each of their wins. The defense has allowed a grand total of 24 points this season. Jackson Kinzer has completed over 68 percent of his passes and is also averaging over ten yards per rush attempt. Chase Dufek leads the Cowboys with 332 rushing yards on the season. Senior Layton Thieman has led Colome from the receiver position with four touchdown catches. At Mike Dacy Field for Friday, the 3-0 Gorillas will battle 0-3 Rapid City Christian. Brian Allmendinger’s team seems to be getting better by the week as they have went from 12 points scored in the opening week of the season to then 40 points scored on Parkston before beating Jones County/White River on August 31st, 69-18. The Comets are looking for their first victory of the season. They have fallen to New Underwood, Wall and Philip the first three weeks of 2018. Good luck to both Gregory and Colome on Friday!
