Local Election Results from Tuesday, April 11th

Several local elections took place in our listening area on Tuesday, April 11th.

The City of Burke had an election for 1 councilman position (2-year term) in Ward I.  Todd Halsne defeated Bryson Vasquez 29 votes to 18 votes.

The City of White River had a mayoral election. Brandi L. Schmidt – Hodges defeated Paul D. Knispel 56 to 35 votes.

White River Schools had a school board election. Louann Krogman, Stan Knispel and Ashley Arrow ran for two open positions on the board. Louann Krogman and Stan Knispel won the two positions with 133  and 103 votes respectively.

The City of Platte had a mayoral election. Ken Vanzee defeated Jerry Overweg  319 to 80 votes.

Platte-Geddes Schools had a school board election. There were three candidates vying for two board seats (3-year terms): Steve Olsen, Jared Veurink, and Tina Schuman. Tina Schuman and Jared Veurink won the two positions with 368 and 366 votes respectively.

A municipal election was held in Kennebec for two trustees for a three-year term and one trustee for a one-year term. The candidates were Colleen Venter, Tom Hills, Brian Miller, and Todd Longville.  Brian Miller, Tom Hills, and Todd Longville won the three positions with 56, 50, and 46 votes respectively.
