National Grasslands Visitor Center Announces Summer Interpretive Plans

The Fort Pierre, Wall, and Fall River Ranger Districts of the Nebraska National Forests & Grasslands opened recreation sites and increased public access on May 20, 2020. Yet due to the Covid 19 pandemic and current public health concerns, the National Grasslands Visitor Center in Wall will remain closed until further notice to protect the health and safety of all visiting publics and our employees.

Even though the visitor center building will be closed, the National Grasslands Visitor Center is excited to continue connecting with communities through social media and patio talks. Starting this summer the National Grasslands Visitor Center will offer patio talks on specific subjects each week. In addition, general questions about the grasslands can be answered during “Ask a Ranger,” sessions.

Schedules and times for the programs are subject to change with protecting the health and safety of visiting publics and our employees as the highest priority. Please call the Wall Ranger District at 605-279-2125 for specific times and program status. Both the patio talks and “Ask a Ranger” programs will also be subject to local COVID conditions, as needed.

Planned activities and events for The National Grasslands Visitor Center will also be communicated virtually with our visitors and all our public partners on our website, www.fs.usda.gov/nebraskaTwitter @usfsnebraska , and Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/NebraskaForestsGrasslands/, so stay connected with us through social media.
