The South Dakota Basketball Coaches Association revealed the region coaches of the year for the 2021-2022 season. Locally, Winner’s Brett Gardner was named the south central region 8 head boys coach of the year. Winner’s Keely Connot was named the Region 8 assistant girls coach of the year. Justice Morrison of White River was named the Region 8 assistant boys coach of the year. Lower Brule’s Brian Laroche was named the region 3 boys coach of the year. Gregory’s Lonnie Klundt was named the region 7 assistant boys coach of the year.
