Day 1 of State Softball took place Friday in Sioux Falls. Locally in the 12U C Division, Platte won their first game against Vermillion 8-5. Madison defeated Platte last night, 2-0. The Burke 12U girls won their first game at state over the Brookings Blast, 13-4. Burke then fell to the B.Y.B. Saints by a final of 10-7. In the 14U C Division, Gregory won their first game against the Dell Rapids Whiplash, 17-2. Gregory won game two over the Rapid City Terror, 8-7. In the 16U Division, the Sioux Falls Inferno beat Gregory, 16-9. In the 18U C Division Tournament, it was quite the day for Winner! Winner won their first game over Chaos, 7-1. Winner then came back and defeated Scotland, 9-6. Today at 12:30, the Winner 18U girls will play in the semifinals against the SD Rush. In the 14U Tournament, Burke will play at 8am against the Dells Whiplash. Gregory will play at 2pm. In the 12U Tournament, Platte will play Tea at 9:30 while Burke will battle Dakota Valley at 9:30am. In the 16U Tournament at 8am, Gregory plays Brandon Valley.
