The Ainsworth Area Chamber of Commerce will host their Middle of Nowhere Carnival Days June 12th through the 14th on Ainsworth’s Main Street. The carnival will be open on Friday and Saturday from 6 to 11pm, and again on Sunday from 6 to 10pm. Wristbands will be available for purchase at the ticket booth for $30 with unlimited rides.

In the race for Tripp County Auditor, , Barb Desersa was elected with 1,165 votes, while Tanessa Collette received 395 votes.
Running for Tripp County Sheriff were Dave Baker and Shawn Pettit. Pettit was elected with 1,273 votes. Dave Baker received 331 votes.
Running for Tripp County Commissioner in District 3 are Mike Novotny and Steve Novotny. Mike Novotny received 157 votes, while Steve Novotny received 156 votes. Since both candidates have received 50 percent of the votes, a vote recount will happen in the coming days according to Tripp County Auditor Barb DeSersa.
Running for Tripp County Commissioner in District 5 were Cody Jorgensen and Micah Cook. Cody Jorgensen was elected receiving 126 votes, while Micah Cook received 101 votes.
For precinct committeeman, Tripp-Colome Consolidated, Brian Beck was elected receiving 162 votes. Brad Bolton received 70 votes
Precinct committeeman Tripp-Lamro Consolidated, running were James Halverson and Brad Assman. Brad Assman was elected receiving 145 votes, while James Halverson received 77 votes
Precinct Committeeman Tripp-Sully Consolidated. On the ballot were Richard Krantz and Ken Engel. Ken Engel was elected with 31 votes to Richard Krantz’ 21 votes.
Precinct Committeeman Tripp-Winner Consolidated. Running were Nathan Naasz and William Mann. Nathan Naasz was elected receiving 88 votes. William Mann received 71 votes.
Precinct Committeewoman Tripp-Colome Consolidated. Running were Debra Rae Kendrick and Kay Bolton. Debra Kendrick was elected with 136 votes. Kay Bolton received 94 votes.
Precinct Committeewoman Tripp-Lamro Consolidated. Running were Cindy Assman and Becky Olson. Becky Olson was elected with 118 votes while Cindy Assman received 108 votes

In Gregory County on the ballot for Gregory County Sheriff were Cody Spann and Ryan L. Cook. Ryan Cook was elected receiving 672 votes. Cody Spann received 518 votes.
Running for Gregory County Commissioner in District 3 were Byrain Boes and Aaron Hogrefe. Aaron Hogrefe was elected receiving 172 votes. Boes received 79 votes.
The City of Gregory held a Mayoral Election. Laura Petersen was elected as she received 323 votes, Al Cerny received 90 votes while Butch Rolf received 22 votes.
There was 1 seat open on the Todd County School Board for a 3 year term. On the ballot for this seat were Timothy Cournoyer Sr., Timmi Lynn Grablander, Earl Hicks and Melissa Whiple. Melissa Whipple was elected receiving 302 votes. Timothy Cournoyer Sr. received 281 votes, Timmi Lynn Grablander received 120 votes while Earl Hicks received 63 votes.

Running for Lyman County Precinct 13 Committeeman is Kent Juhnke vs Brian Kraus. Kent Juhnke was elected receiving 40 votes. Brian Kraus received 14 votes.
In Charles Mix County on the ballot for County Auditor were Jason Gant and Colette Mesman. Messman was elected with 754 votes while Jason Gant received 351 votes.
On the ballot for County Commissioner District 1 were Robert (Bill) Frei vs Nick Stotz. Frei was elected with 96 votes while Stotz received 66 votes.
In Brule County running for County Commissioner in District 3 were James Kettelhut and Steve Olson. James Ketelhut was elected receiving 134 votes while Steve Olsen received 44 votes.
There will be an election for City Commissioner in Pukwana. On the ballot were Olivia Downs and Dixie Langton. Downs was elected receiving 48 votes, while Langton received 17 votes.
On the ballot for a 3 year term on the Kimball School board were Kendra Olson and Kelly Konechne. Kendra Olson was elected with 216 votes while Kelly received 111 votes.
Running for Ward 2 Alderman in Kimball were Janene Wingert and Matthew Bilben. Wingert was elected with 34 votes, while Matt Bilben received 27 votes.
The City of Chamberlain had a Mayor election. On the ballot were Monte Clausen and Chad Mutziger. Mutziger was elected as Mayor with 276 votes while Clausen received 187 votes.
We also had Legislative races in our area. Running for State Senator in District 21 were Erin Tobin and Mykala Voita. Voita was elected as she received 3,273 votes while Tobin received 2,271 votes.
Running for State Representative in District 21 with 2 seats open were Jim Halverson, Marty Overweg, Wyatt Dejong and John H. Harter. Halverson and Overweg were elected. Overweg received 3,221 votes, Halverson received 2, 761 votes. Harter received 2,053 votes while Dejong received 1,147 votes.
On the Democrat ballot for State Senator in District 26 were Troy “Luke” Lunderman vs Shawn Bordeaux. Bordeaux was elected with 762 votes while Lunderman received 502 votes.
On the Republican ballot for State Senator in District 26 were Rebecca Reimer and Tamara R. Grove. Reimer was elected with 1,210 votes while Grove received 1,062 votes.
Running for State Representative in District 26 were Will Mahnke and Angi Hanzlik. Angi Hanzlik was elected with 882 votes, while Mahnke received 760 votes.
