MLB Sunday, the Twins defeated the Red Sox, 5-4 to take 2 of 3 in the series in Boston. Byron Buxton homered in the victory while Ryan Jeffers drove in a couple of runs for Minnesota, who will now begin a series on Tuesday at home against Baltimore.

Highlights from Howard Wood Relays Saturday

The Howard Wood Relays came to a close Saturday in Sioux Falls. Here’s a look at some of the highlights:

Girls Discus- Burke’s Paige Bull placed third

Bennett County’s Peyson O’Neill won the girls 300 hurdles in 43.36.

Gregory was runner up in the boys Class B sprint medley relay. Jones County was third, Kimball/White Lake was fifth.

Winner was fourth in the boys Class A sprint medley relay

The Winner girls placed fourth in the class A 4 X  1 relay

Winner’s Shawn Hammerbeck placed sixth in the boys discus

In the boys class B 4X 1 Relay, Gregory was 8th.

In the boys Class A 4 X 1 relay, Platte/Geddes placed fifth

In the girls class B 4X4 relay, Burke placed fourth

In the boys class B 4X 4 relay, Jones County was runner up

In the boys class A 4×4 relay, Winner placed sixth.

In the Great Plains Conference Meet, Corbin Tople of Centerville was the medalist, while Burke’s Brody Indahl was fourth. Centerville won the team title while Burke was third.

 

Girls

Burke won the Great Plains Conference team title. Olivia Bull was the medalist. Burke was runner up in the Avon/Scotland Meet.
