There will be a benefit meal and auction for Kelly Duffy at the Tripp County 4-H Building at the Fairgrounds in Winner on February 7th beginning at 6pm. Money donations can be left at Sentinel Federal Credit Union in Winner, or by calling 842-3581. The account is set up under ‘Kelly Duffy Benefit’. They will also be holding a gun raffle the night of the 7th. Ticket prices are as follows- 1 for $20, 3 for $50 and 7 for $100. Only 300 tickets are available and can be purchased at Jeff’s Gun Vault.

Rancher’s Workshop coming up in White River next week
The 46th annual Rancher’s Workshop will take place next Wednesday, January 15th at the White River Event Center. Registration will begin at 9am, and speakers will start at around 9:45. Winner Area Chamber of Commerce to hold annual banquet on Friday
The Winner Area Chamber of Commerce will hold their annual banquet on January 10th at St. Mary’s Hall. The theme will be boots and bling. Doors will open at 5:30pm. Winner’s Emmy Kaiser will be the entertainment for the evening.
Fire causes fatality
Shortly after 3:00 a.m. on the morning of Sunday, January 5th, the Winner Police Department received a call of a vehicle fire in the northwestern portion of Winner. The Winner Police Department, Winner Volunteer Fire Department and Tripp County Ambulance responded to the call. Officers found the vehicle was occupied by one person. The person was extracted from the vehicle and transported by ambulance to Winner Regional Healthcare Center. The person succumbed to their injuries shortly after. Out of respect to the family, the name of the victim will not be released at this time.

High School Basketball coverage will come your way tomorrow on Magic 93! The Chamberlain Cubs and Lady Cubs will hit the road to battle Winner. Pregame coverage will get underway at around 5:50.
Date set for Platte Fishing Tournament
The Platte Area Chamber of Commerce has set the date for their 29th annual fishing tournament. The 2025 tournament will take place on May 3rd. There will be over $20,000 in payouts this year. Registration will open February 1st. Further information can be found at plattesd.org.
