Boys Golf
At the Sioux Falls Christian Invite on Tuesday, Sawyer Slack of Tea Area was the medalist, as he won a tie breaker over Chase McQuirk of Chamberlain, as both guys each shot a 67. Vermillion won the team title by two strokes over Tea Area. Chamberlain was 12th as a team.
Cross Country
At the Gregory Invite, Elijah Haukaas of White River won the boys race in a time of 17:33. Walter Graesser of Platte/Geddes was runner up in a time of 18:16. Carter Peppel was Winner’s top runner as he placed seventh. Berklee Mills of Platte/Geddes won the girls race in a time of 20:25. Gregory’s Avery Birkel placed fourth, while Avery Manke of Winner finished eighth.
At the McCook Central/Montrose Invite in Salem, Grace Phillips of Chamberlain won the girls race in a time of 19:36:77. Rorie Thoreson of Dell Rapids was runner up in a time of 19:57:62. Sasha Van Den Bosch of Chamberlain was third. Carter Siemonsma of Garretson won the boys race in a time of 16:44:87. Chamberlain’s Liam Gill placed third.

Tim Pravecek of Winner has been selected to be inducted into the South Dakota 4-H Shooting Sports Volunteer Hall of Fame! Pravecek will be recognized at the South Dakota State Fair in Huron on Sunday, September 6th. A reception and induction ceremony for this year’s Hall of Fame Inductees will begin at 4pm in the North Classroom in the Nordby Exhibit Hall.

The 74th Annual Meeting of the Golden West Telecommunications Cooperative is coming up on Saturday, Sept 26th beginning at 11am at the Community Center in Wall. Registration starts will begin at 9:30AM.

At the Loopy Open 2 person Tournament on Saturday at the Burke Golf Course, the team of Abbey and Chris Mikkelsen were victorious as they shot a 59.
At the Colome Pink Ladies 4 person Tournament at the Winner Country Club on Saturday, Will Risse’s team was victorious as they finished with a 62.
At the Lake Platte Golf Classic on Saturday at the Lake Platte Golf Course, Dawson Hoffman’s team was victorious as they carded a 53. Leah Schuman of Platte hit a hole in one on hole number seven!
