Southern Plains of White River will be holding their annual Butterfly Release today, in recognition of Mental Health Awareness and Suicide Prevention Month. The release will take place this afternoon beginning at 4pm at the White River City Park.

At the Winner Middle School/JV Invite, Robert Whipple of Todd Count was the medalist in the jv invite as he carded a 43. Sam Steele of Winner Area was runner up with a 48. Lincoln Zeigler of Winner Area was the medalist in the middle school invite as he shot a 38. Chamberlain’s Axel Steele was third with a 45.
Cross Country
At the Bon Homme Invite on Monday, Dylan Gerdes of Madison won the boys race in 17:21:05. Gregory’s Luke Barreto placed seventh. Delani Runnels of Niobrara/Verdigre won the girls race in 21:12:99. Grace Steffen of Burke placed sixth while Abigail Engel of Gregory was 10th.

Planned Power Outage today
Rosebud Electric is having a planned power outage today from 9am to 5pm. This outage will affect all members east of Fairfax to the Fort Randall Dam. At the Clyde Cotton Invite in Huron, Chamberlain’s Grace Phillips won the girls race in 18:48:43. Carson Urlacher of Aberdeen Central won the boys race in 16:04:46.
Volleyball
Harrisburg fell in the silver division championship match Saturday in Las Vegas of the Durango Classic to Cornerstone Christian, 25-19, 23-25 and 18-25. In divisional round play, Harrisburg swept Mira Costa (California), they then defeated Skyview (Idaho) in three sets before falling to Cornerstone Christian (Texas) in the final match at the classic.
At the Big Dakota Conference Tournament in Fort Pierre on Saturday, Winner won the championship match over Mobridge/Pollock, 25-20 and 25-21.

At the Slacks Revenge Tournament at Medicine Creek Golf Course in Presho, Eric Diehm’s team was victorious as they shot a 61.
