USD to play Sam Houston State on Saturday

The University of South Dakota Football team marched on to the second round of the FCS playoffs after they forced a fumble at the goal line in the closing seconds of the opening round contest at Nicholls State as the Coyotes won, 38-31. USD will play in the second round on Saturday at Sam Houston State at 2pm this weekend. Sam Houston State has one loss on the season and that occured on September 30th against Central Arkansas.

Jacks to battle Northern Iowa on Saturday

The South Dakota State Jackrabbit Football team will begin their playoff run this weekend when they host Northern Iowa at 2pm central on Saturday in Brookings. Doski’s prelude to the pregame will kickoff our coverage on Magic 93 at 12:50. Back on October 14th, Northern Iowa came to Brookings and grabbed a 38-18 victory.

Christmas Program set for Sunday in Clearfield

The annual community Christmas Program in Clearfield will happen this weekend! The program will be held on Sunday, December 3rd starting at 2pm at the Clearfield Hall. Local talent will provide the entertainment including music, skits and featured entertainment by the A’Cafellas. Refreshments will be available following the program and there is no admission charge for the event.

Awareness Meeting to happen Wednesday

There will be a drug awareness meeting taking place this Wednesday, November 29th starting at 6:30pm at the Lyman High School Music Room in Presho. There will be an informational meeting on the different types of drugs kids are experimenting with. Everyone is welcome to attend this event. The meeting is being sponsored by the Lyman County EMT and the Lions Club.

A tough second half for Nebraska propelled the Iowa Hawkeyes to a lopsided victory in College Football on Friday, 56-14, ending the Huskers disappointing 2017 campaign. Nebraska finished the season with a record of 4-8. Stanley Morgan was one of the few bright spots for Big Red on Friday as he caught seven passes for 74 yards and two touchdowns. In Men’s College Basketball Friday, Trey Burch-Manning led USD with 18 points and 14 rebounds as the Coyotes won at the Sanford Pentagon Showcase over Southern Miss, 84-71. In Women’s College hoops yesterday, SDSU beat 23rd ranked NC State in Fort Lauderdale, 75-67.

Cold Hard Cash Show to perform

If you love the man in black, then you won’t want to miss the Cold Hard Cash Show, a tribute to Country Legend Johnny Cash this Friday and Saturday, November 24th and the 25th! The band will play at the Fort Randall Casino from 8 to midnight each night. Tickets will be just fifteen dollars at the door. More details can be found at fortrandallcasino.com.

Decorate a tree in the courthouse!

The Tripp County Commissioners would like to invite you to put up a Christmas Tree in the courthouse halls! It is a great way to promote your business or have a family tree. Trees need to be put up from November 27th to December 4th. There will be an open house on December 5th from 5:30-7:30 with singing and treats.
