Put up a tree in the Tripp County Courthouse!

The Tripp County Commissioners would like to invite you to put up a Christmas Tree in the courthouse halls! It is a great way to promote your business or have a family tree. Trees need to be put up from November 27th to December 4th. There will be an open house on December 5th from 5:30-7:30 with singing and treats. To sign up call the Tripp County Extension Office at 842-2858.

College Basketball from Wednesday

MEN’S COLLEGE BASKETBALL WAS HELD LAST NIGHT. TCU WAS ABLE TO HOLD OFF USD IN FORTH WORTH ON WEDNESDAY NIGHT BY A FINAL SCORE OF 76-71. MATT MOONEY LED THE COYOTE SCORING ATTACK AS HE HAD 31 POINTS. THE LOSS WAS THE FIRST OF THE SEASON FOR THE COYOTES, WHO NOW SIT AT 2-1 ON THE SEASON.

 

WOMENS COLLEGE BASKETBALL FROM WEDNESDAY

THE SOUTH DAKOTA STATE LADY JACKS MOVED THEIR RECORD TO 4-0 AFTER THEY BEAT NORTH DAKOTA IN BROOKINGS, 66-52. MACY MILLER LED SOUTH DAKOTA STATE IN SCORING AS SHE HAD 18 POINTS.

 

Burke/South Central ready to battle Warner on Thursday

Day one of the State ‘B’ Volleyball Tournament will get underway at 1pm central on Thursday at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center in Rapid City. Burke/South Central (28-5) is the number six seed and will play three seeded Warner (28-4) at 6pm mountain/7pm central. The two teams played one another on September 9th at a tournament in Arlington in which Warner was victorious, 25-11 and 25-23. Warner was able to qualify for the state tournament after they beat Bridgewater/Emery in straight sets in their Sweet 16 game. Burke/South Central marched on to state after they took down Arlington in come from behind fashion in five games.

Annual Parade of Trees fast approaching

The Keya Paha County Courthouse will be hosting their annual Parade of Trees for the holiday season! Trees can go on display the Monday after Thanksgiving on November 27th. If you would like more information on the parade of trees you can call Sandi at the Keya Paha County Treasurers Office at 402-497-3891.

Nominations being accepted for Cowboy Hall of Fame

Nominations are now being accepted for the 2018 Nebraska Sand Hills Cowboy Hall of Fame. The Sand Hills Cowboy Hall of Game honors the men and women who have made lasting contributions to the Sand Hills and our cowboy way of life. Nominations are due by December 31st, 2017. Tune in to Magic 93 Saturday for USD-SDSU!

Magic 93 will have full coverage of the big rivalry showdown at the Dakota Dome on Saturday when USD hosts South Dakota State! Doski’s prelude to the pregame will kickoff our coverage at 12:50 and kickoff will take place at 2pm. Doski will have a local guest on his prelude to the pregame so be sure to tune in.

ALL-CONFERENCE FOOTBALL TEAMS WERE RECENTLY ANNOUNCED. MAKING ALL-CONFERENCE IN THE GREAT PLAINS FOR COLOME WERE KOLTON SALONEN, BEAU BERTRAM, JACKSON KINZER AND CHASE DUFEK. MAKING ALL CONFERENCE FOR BURKE/SOUTH CENTRAL WERE DARRIN WITT, MICHAEL PRESLICKA AND BROCK KARBO. IN THE MISSOURI VALLEY, MAKING ALL CONFERENCE FOR THE STATE CHAMPION GORILLAS WERE ANDY MCCANCE, JAYD VANDERWERFF, J.J. BECK, JON BAKKE, BLAKE BOES, CADE FORTUNA AND CALEB STUKEL.

 

Cancer Center fundraiser coming up at Jet Lanes

Jet Lanes in Presho will be holding a cancer center fundraiser this Friday and Saturday, November 17th and 18th. The event will be called “Game on Cancer”, a 24 hour games marathon to go towards Helmsmen Cancer Center in Pierre. There will be a variety of games suitable for all ages and will start on Friday at 6pm. Players, fans and spectators are welcome to attend. Free will donations may be dropped off any time during the 24 hour event.
