At the Chamberlain Invite on Thursday,  Jackson Taken Alive of Cheyenne-Eagle Butte won the boys race in 15:42:3. Garretson’s Carter Siemonsma was runner up in 16:14. Elijah Haukaas of White River was third, while Liam Gill of Chamberlain placed fourth. Chamberlain’s Grace Phillips won the girls race in a time of 18:40:7. Berklee Mills of Platte/Geddes was runner up in 20:00:0. Sasha Van Den Bosch of Chamberlain was third.

Course coming up at the Gun Club in Winner on Saturday

The Rosebud Arrow Rod and Gun Club in Winner is sponsoring a Basic Pistol and South Dakota Enhanced Carry Course on Saturday, September 19th from 9:00 to 5:00.  The Class fee is $150.00 for first time applications.  It’s $75.00 for Enhanced Carry 5 year Renewals.  Check your renewal dates, as the class can be taken 365 days prior to expiration.  Registration forms can be found at Jeff’s Gun Vault, Rosebud Arrow Rod and Gun Club and Runnings.  Pre-Registration is required.  Please call or text John at 840-9478 with any questions or to request a registration form be mailed to you.

Bingo set for Saturday in Winner

The Sons of the American Legion invite you to join them for Bingo at the Winner American Legion on Saturday, September 19th.  At 6pm they will serve sloppy joes, hot dogs and beans, and then bingo starts at 7pm.  Free will donations will be accepted for the food.  There will be door prizes and 50% payback for bingo.  Proceeds will go towards Dakota Senior Meals.

At the Winner Invite on Tuesday at the Winner Country Club, Chase McQuirk of Chamberlain was the medalist as he shot a 2 under par, 70. Carter Craven of Winner was runner up with a 78. Cooper Craven of Winner placed fourth with a 79, while Brody Calhoon of Winner was fifth with an 81. Winner won the team title by eight strokes over Stevens, while Chamberlain was third.
