Calhoon’s Walk-Off Home Run lifts Winner/Colome to victory!
It was quite the thriller in Brookings on Monday for Game 3 of the State B Club Baseball tournament between two Central South Dakota teams. Winner/Colome was able to defeat Platte/Geddes/Dakota Christian/White Lake, 3-2 in 9 innings. PG/DC/WL was able to get out to a 1-0 lead after the first inning, before Winner/Colome tied it up in the second. Platte then went in front, 2-1 in the fourth, before Winner/Colome tied it up in the seventh inning on a Landon Calhoon double. In the bottom of the ninth with two outs, Calhoon ripped a solo home run over the left field wall to win it for Winner/Colome. Winner/Colome will now play Dakota Valley in the semis today at 2:30. Game 1 will see Dell Rapids battle Elk/Point Jefferson at Noon. The championship game will be at 5pm between the winners of Game 1 and game 2.
