Platte/Geddes and Winner/Colome headed to the State B Club Baseball Tournament!
The Platte/Geddes and Winner/Colome Club Baseball teams punched their tickets to the State B Club Baseball Tournament that begins on Memorial Day in Brookings. Platte/Geddes on Wednesday defeated Chamberlain in game 1, 14-7. Platte/Geddes won their state qualifying game over Rapid City Christian, 6-1. Winner/Colome on Wednesday defeated Hot Springs in game 1, 16-6. Winner/Colome went on to win their state qualifying game over Belle Fourche, 18-8. Belle Fourche earlier in the evening beat Gregory County, 7-1. Matchups for the State B Tournament include 7 seeded Winner/Colome taking on 2 seeded Madison, while 5 seeded Platte/Geddes takes on 4 seeded Vermillion. Start times are to be determined.

Region 5B Boys and Girls Golf happened Tuesday in Pierre. Derek Brueggeman of Miller was the medalist in the boys tournament shooting a 74. Lyman’s MJ Diehm was 11th with an 86. Red Sazue of Lyman was 12th with an 88. Jones County’s Joey Rankin was 16th with a 91. Miller won the boys team title by three strokes over Gettysburg. Lyman was fourth. Jayce Pugh of Miller was the medalist in the girls tournament shooting a 79. Tayah Anderson of Jones County was sixth with a 98. Miller won the girls team title.
In the Region 3A Girls Golf Tournament in Mitchell, Trey Speer of Chamberlain was the medalist carding an 83. Winner Area’s Gracie Root was runner up with an 87. Natalie Nelson of Chamberlain was third with a 94. Chamberlain’s Jayde McQuirk was fifth with a 96. Claire Pravecek of Winner Area was seventh with a 98. Payton Sargent of Winner Area was 8th with a 100. Chamberlain won the team title by 16 strokes, while Winner Area was runner up.

REGION 4B BOYS AND GIRLS GOLF TOOK PLACE IN MITCHELL ON MONDAY. BURKE’S BRODY INDAHL WAS THE MEDALIST IN THE BOYS TOURNAMENT AS HE SHOT A 77. BOHDE KUIPER OF PLATTE/GEDDES WAS RUNNER UP AS HE SHOT A 79. AIDEN BOLTJES OF PLATTE/GEDDES WAS 9TH WITH AN 82. BON HOMME WON THE BOYS TEAM TITLE BY THREE STROKES OVER PLATTE/GEDDES, WHILE BURKE WAS FIFTH. IN THE GIRLS TOURNAMENT, MALLORY GANT OF PLATTE/GEDDES WAS THE MEDALIST AS SHE SHOT AN 85, ONE SHOT AHEAD OF CLAIRE GERLACH OF CORSICA/STICKNEY. PLATTE/GEDDES WON THE TEAM TITLE BY 18 STROKES OVER SCOTLAND/MENNO.
