Dinner for Hope coming up October 16th

A Dinner for Hope will be held on Monday, October 16th beginning at 6:30pm at the Burke Civic Center. This is an informative breast cancer awareness fundraiser with local educational speakers and testimonials. You can get tickets at the Community Memorial Hospital, Green’s Grocery or at First Fidelity Bank. All of the proceeds will be donated to the Pink Ladies and distributed to cancer patients in Gregory County.

Walk/Run to happen Saturday in Winner

The Pink Posse 2017 neon walk/run will be held this Saturday, October 7th at the Winner Golf Course. Registration will start at 5pm, the race will begin at 5:30 and a meal will follow. Registration includes a t-shirt, water bottle and meal. There will be a drawing for a quilt raffle donated by the Haukaas family along with a Yeti cooler and a one night stay at the Holiday Inn in Pierre. Please come out and help support breast cancer.

Day 1 State Golf results

Day two of the State ‘A’ Boys Golf Tournament will get underway at 9am this morning at Dakota Dunes. Leading the team standings after day one is Dakota Valley as they shot a 320 team score on Monday, one stroke ahead of Aberdeen Roncalli. Chamberlain is tenth with a 379. Individually, Roncalli’s Lucas Schaefbauer is in first place as he shot a 72 on Monday, four strokes ahead of Tea Area’s Kolby Newborg. Locally, Chamberalin’s Cameron Caldwell is tied for eighteenth as he carded an 84 Monday.

 

Coverage from Winner and Gregory this week

Chris Doski and Scott Schramm will be back on the air providing you with more high school football coverage this Friday. Chris will be at Mike Dacy Field as Wolsey-Wesssington will take on the top ranked Gregory Gorillas at 7pm. Pre-game coverage on Magic 93 will get underway at 6:30. On Country 1260 Friday, Scott will have the call for Wagner at Winner from Warrior Field. Pre-game coverage will start at 6:30.

Lunch and Learn to happen Wednesday

A lunch and learn will be held this Wednesday, October 4th from Noon-1pm at the Long Term Care Chapel of Winner Regional Healthcare. It is a chance for individuals to get expert advice on prostate health from Urologist Dr. Stacy Childs. This will be a free event with a light lunch that will be served. Reservations are required as the class size is limited. To make a reservation for the event call 605-842-7231.

Gordon to hold harvest festival this weekend

The 5th annual Gordon Chamber of Commerce Harvest Festival is coming up on Saturday, October 7th from 9am to 4pm on Main Street in Gordon, Nebraska! There will be a car show, creeper races, a kids costume contest, kiddy tractor pull, food vendors and a special performance by Elvis at 2pm. Bring the whole family to this exciting festival !
