The Big Dakota Conference Volleyball Tournament will be held Saturday in Fort Pierre. Pool one will consist of the following three teams: Miller, Todd County and Crow Creek. Pool two will feature Winner, McLaughlin and Mobridge/Pollock while Pool 3 features Stanley County, Chamberlain and Cheyenne-Eagle Butte. The action will get underway at 10am.

Wednesday reminders
Don’t forget that a couple of blood drives are going on in Central South Dakota today. A blood drive will start at 2:30 and run until 5 at the White River Sacred Heart Hall. Another blood drive is going on at the Geddes Legion Hall and will run from 12:30-5:30pm. If you have yet to see the movie “All Saints”, you have the chance to do so tonight at the Pix Theatre in Winner! The movie is rated PG and will begin at 7:30pm.
Big events coming up in Gregory County
Coming up next Monday, September 18th, Rosebud Electric Cooperative in Gregory will hold its annual meeting of their members beginning at 7:30pm at the Gregory Memorial Auditorium. There will be an election of three directors, great food and entertainment along with terrific door prizes! Later this month, the Fireball Run will be making a stop in Gregory County! Caldwell victorious at Winner Invite
Chamberlain’s Cameron Caldwell won the Winner Boys Golf Invitational on Tuesday as he shot a 78, nine strokes ahead of his teammate Drayton Priebe who was second with an 87. Chamberlain’s Carter Feltman also finished high in the standings as he was fifth. Todd County’s Bryce Hammer ended up finishing sixth, Thomas Denoyer of St. Francis was eighth and Gage Watson was Winner Area’s top golfer as he was 23rd.
Golf Invites and Tournaments coming up later this week
Coming up Thursday, the Todd County Boys Golf Invite will be held in Mission beginning at 11am. Sunday, the Lambley/Sheperd four person tournament will take place at the Burke Golf Course. Also on Sunday, the Benson/Haley/Gant one man scramble will take place at the Winner Country Club. To get a team signed up call Steph Waller at the clubhouse at 842-0686.
Pink Posse event set for October 7th
The 2017 Pink Posse Neon Walk/Run will be held on October 7th at the Winner Golf Course. Registration will take place at 5 and the race will be at 5:30 with a meal to follow. Registration includes a t-shirt, water bottle and meal. There will be a drawing for a quilt donated by the Haukaas family along with a Yeti cooler and a one night stay at the Holiday Inn in Pierre. Please come out and help support breast cancer.
Winner Class of '77 reunion dance to happen
The Winner High School Class of 1977 invites you to help them celebrate their 40th class reunion by attending their free all-class reunion dance on Friday, September 29th after the homecoming football game at St. Mary’s Hall in Winner. Doors will open at 8:30pm. Dance the night away to the sounds of Black Water from 9-1. There will be a cash bar provided by Sargent’s and a fundraising concession stand by the Spirit Gems. All honored classes, graduates and non graduates of Winner High School are welcome, but no one under the age of 21 will be admitted.
