Cross Country from Tuesday

The Scotland Cross Country Invite was held on Tuesday. For Winner Area, Sidda Schuyler won the girls race! Jaclyn Laprath was fourth overall and Meagan Blare came in seventh. As a team, Winner Area was first place. On the boys side, Kray Person of Burke/South Central was victorious. Gregory’s Aaron Voight was second. Kade Watson for Winner Area was fourth overall while Dawson Phillips was eighth. Ethan/Parkston won the boys team title while Winner Area finished second and Burke/South Central was third.

State Rodeo Finals to happen in Valentine this weekend

The 2017 Nebraska State Rodeo Association Finals will be held this weekend in Valentine, September 8th through the 10th at the Cherry County Fairgrounds. The first performance on Friday will get underway at 6pm and the theme is ‘Tough Enough to Wear Pink’. Saturday, steer roping will get going at 9am. The second performance will start at 6pm Saturday and the theme will be ‘Patriot Night’. Sunday, Cowboy Church will be held at 9am followed by the final performance at 1pm. Adult tickets are ten dollars each and kids twelve and under get in for five dollars each.

Platte reminders

A reminder that the Goodwill trailer is at the Platte Food Center parking lot until Tuesday, September 12th. Goodwill accepts the following donations for resale: good, clean house ware, small furniture, clothing, shoes, electronics in working condition, cell phones and accessories. Coming up in October, there will be a blood drive at the Platte Community Center on October 10th from 12:30-6pm.

Children's garden activity to happen in Burke

Remember you can checkout the Burke Farmers Market each Thursday through September on Main Street. Thursday, September 7th and on the 14th they will host free children’s garden activities in conjunction with the markets. All activities will start at 5. On Saturday’s you can head to the Trinity Lutheran Church in Chamberlain and take a look at their farmers market! They are open from 8-noon. If you want to be a vendor call Teal at 682-9377.

Coverage from Bonesteel Friday night

Chris Doski will have coverage of high school football on Friday night from Bonesteel when the Burke/South Central Cougars battle the Corsica/Stickney Jaguars. Pre-game coverage on Magic 93 will start at 6:30. It will be a fun night for the South Central students as they are celebrating Homecoming this week! Get out and support the Cougars Friday night!

Call Center now open

The Rosebud Economic Development Corporation and Rosebud Lending are proud to announce the opening of Antelope Lake Communications! ALC is a call center specializing in handling customer service calls in the financial service industry. Redco is now seeking qualified applicants to fill twelve customer service agent positions, a manager and a supervisor.
