Warriors ready to battle the Trojans tomorrow

The 1-1 Winner Warriors will hit the road and travel to Hartford Friday to take on the 0-1 West Central Trojans. Coverage will be provided by Scott Schramm and Brett Gardner beginning at 6:25 on Country 1260. Winner looks to have another strong team performance after beating Stanley County last week, 42-6 in Fort Pierre. The Warriors rushed for over 400 yards in the victory and look to keep rolling. The Trojans fell in their season opener last weekend to a good Tea Area team, 35-14. West Central has one of the toughest schedules in the state. After playing Winner, they will go to St. Thomas More for an afternoon game, play at Dell Rapids, host Madison, play in Tri-Valley and Dakota Valley before ending the season with a home game against McCook Central/Montrose and then playing at Lennox.

Help us celebrate 60 years tonight!

We here at KWYR invite everyone to come out to Main Street in Winner and help us celebrate 60 years of business tonight during the final Winner Summer Nights event of the year from 5:30-9pm! There will be numerous food vendors for you to checkout to go along with plenty of activities for the kids and live music provided by Westbound! Stop by in front of the station and grab a bottle of water and a cookie. We want to thank everyone for supporting local radio all these years!

Farmers Market information

Remember you can checkout the Burke Farmers Market each Thursday through September on Main Street. September 7th and the 14th they will host free children’s garden activities in conjunction with the markets. All activities will start at 5. On Saturday’s you can head to the Trinity Lutheran Church in Chamberlain and take a look at their farmers market! They are open from 8-noon. If you want to be a vendor call Teal at 682-9377.
