Winner Volleyball team to begin their season tonight!

The Winner Volleyball team will look for a victory in their season opener tonight when they host Bon Homme at the Winner National Guard Armory. Bon Homme was 29-6 a season ago and is receiving votes in the preseason media poll in Class A. Winner will look to build off their 12-16 season from a year ago. Winner will be in action three times over these next seven days as they play tonight then Miller on Thursday at the Winner Armory followed by a matchup in Burke next Tuesday.

Gregory County reminders

Gregory Lanes will be holding a league bowling organizational meeting tonight beginning at 7:30pm. Pizza and beverages will be enjoyed by those who attend! Coming up in a couple of weeks, a dart meeting for Gregory and Burke area shooters will take place on Wednesday, September 6th at Bill’s Bar on Main Street in Burke. Blood drives going on this week

Keep in mind that a blood drive will take place in Butte, Nebraska this afternoon. The drive will run from 2-5:45pm at the Butte Community Center. If you would like to make an appointment you can call Phyllis at 402-832-5777.  Another blood drive will happen at the Burke Civic Center on Wednesday, August 23rd running from Noon to 5pm tomorrow. Twins Talk is back today!

Chris Doski will be back with another edition of Twins Talk this afternoon on Country 1260 at 3:45! Chris and a local guest will discuss Minnesota’s play over the last couple of weeks and talk about the latest news surrounding the organization. The program will air tonight on 93.7FM at around 7:10. Family Fun night to happen at the Church of the Nazarene

The Winner Church of the Nazarene will be hosting a community family fun night at the church on Sunday, September 3rd beginning at 5:30pm. The church will provide the hot dogs and buns and every family is asked to bring a side dish or a dessert. Pastor Ron will have a scavenger hunt for the teenagers and young adults. There will also be horseshoes and other yard games for all ages!

MBBA back at the Shippy Ranch this weekend!

The Midwest Bucking Bull Association will be back at Randy Shippy’s Ranch south of Colome this Saturday with great bull riding and bucking bull competition taking place! Yearling and two year old futurity will get underway at 10am and classic and maturity will start at 6pm. If you would like more information you can go to their website, shippyrodeobulls.com. Coverage from Parkston and Fort Pierre this week

Our coverage of high school football for this week will come your way from Parkston and Fort Pierre. On Country 1260, Scott and Brett will have the coverage for the Winner at Stanley County matchup. Pre-game will start at 6:30. On Magic 93, Doski will be in Parkston as the Trojans will host the Gregory Gorillas at 7pm. Pre-game coverage will begin at 6:30. Weekend golf results

It was a beautiful weekend for golf in Central South Dakota and North Central Nebraska. Winning the Ron Waller Member Guest Tournament was the team of Rich Crow Eagle and Darrell Herman. In Ainsworth on Saturday, winning the championship flight of the SIHR Tournament was Robert Magill. Chris Osterman won the first flight. The second flight was won by the Calista Keezer team. In Murdo on Saturday, winning the West Central Electric Tournament was the team of Mike, Tuffy and Matthew Beardt as they shot a 60.
