Benefit for Dean Burger to happen on October 14th
A benefit lunch for Dean Burger will take place on Tuesday, October 14th from 11am to 2pm at the Ritz Plaza on Main Street in Winner. They will be serving a pulled pork sandwich meal, along with pulled pork nachos, super nachos for $12 each. All of the proceeds will support Dean as he recovers from cardiac arrest.

The State A Boys Golf Tournament wrapped up Tuesday in Vermillion. Hayden Heig of St. Thomas More was the individual medalist as he carded a tournament best, 138 two day total, including a 69 yesterday. Chamberlain’s Chase McQuirk was the team’s top golfer as he carded a 159 two day total, including an 81 Tuesday. Carter Craven was Winner Area’s top golfer shooting a 167 two day total, including an 82 yesterday. Dakota Valley won the team title by four strokes over Vermillion. Chamberlain was 9th as a team and Winner Area was 10th.
At the State AA Boys Golf Tournament in Rapid City, Taten Mauney of O’Gorman was the individual medalist as he carded a tournament best, 142 two day total, including a 74 Tuesday. Braxton Hollan of Lincoln tied with Charlie Swift of Harrisburg and Jayden Antonen of O’Gorman for runner up as all three shot a 147 two day total. Harrisburg won the team title by four strokes over O’Gorman, Lincoln was third.

Carter Craven and Brody Calhoon were the top golfers for Winner Area as both guys shot an 85. Dakota Valley has a six stroke lead on Vermillion for the top spot in the team standings. Chamberlain is 7th as a team and Winner Area is tied for 10th.

Taten Mauney of O’Gorman had the low score of the day Monday, shooting a 68. Gavin Weir of Harrisburg is second entering today after shooting a 72. Harrisburg is atop the team standings by eight strokes over O’Gorman.

At the SESD Meet in Gregory, Chamberlain’s Grace Phillips won the girls race in 18:23:44. Berklee Mills of Platte/Geddes was fourth, while Ava Schindler of Chamberlain was fifth. Luke Barreto of Gregory won the boys race in 17:32:94. Liam Gill of Chamberlain was third, while Matthew Calhoon of Winner Area was fifth.
