The Chamberlain/Oacoma Volunteer Fire Department will hold a bottled water drive on Wednesday, October 1st from 6 to 8pm at the Chamberlain Fire Hall. There will also be a fire extinguisher giveaway that night as well.

Trysten Eide of MVP was the medalist Thursday at the Plankinton Invite as he shot a 75. London Houska of Chamberlain was runner up with a 76, while Chase McQuirk of Chamberlain was third with a 79. Winner Area’s top golfer was Brody Calhoon as he shot an 81. MVP won the team title, Chamberlain was second and Winner Area was third.
Cross Country
At the Clark Invite, Dylan Gerdes of Madison won the boys race in 17:37. Chamberlain’s Liam Gill placed fifth. Flandreau’s Faith Wiese won the girls race in 18:27:35. Chamberlain’s Grace Phillips was runner up in 19:15:33.

Fall Festival set for next weekend in Winner
The Winner Catholic Church will hold their annual Fall Festival on Sunday, October 5th at St. Mary’s Hall. It will be carry out and delivery only from 4:30 to 6:30. There won’t be any tickets this year, just come and pay at the door. It will be $15 per meal as they will be serving a full turkey dinner.

Final Burke Area Farmers Market of the season is this evening
The final Burke Area Farmers Market of the season will take place this evening at the Burke City Park from 5:30 to 7pm. Butterfly Release in White River today
Southern Plains of White River will be holding their annual Butterfly Release today, in recognition of Mental Health Awareness and Suicide Prevention Month. The release will take place this afternoon beginning at 4pm at the White River City Park.

At the Bon Homme Invite on Monday, Dylan Gerdes of Madison won the boys race in 17:21:05. Gregory’s Luke Barreto placed seventh. Delani Runnels of Niobrara/Verdigre won the girls race in 21:12:99. Grace Steffen of Burke placed sixth while Abigail Engel of Gregory was 10th.
