At the Scotland Invite on Tuesday, Liam Gill of Chamberlain won the boys race in a time of 17:21:27. Winner’s Carter Peppel placed seventh, while Lindy Cosgrove of Chamberlain was 9th. Chamberlain’s Grace Phillips won the girls race in a time of 19:56:18. Her teammate, Ava Schindler, placed fifth. Burke’s Grace Steffen was 13th, while Gregory’s Abigail Engel was 15th.

Football coverage from Rapid City and Gregory on Friday

Friday night, we will have coverage of High School Football from Rapid City and Gregory. On Country 1260, Scott will have coverage of the Winner at Saint Thomas More Game. Pre-game coverage will begin at around 6:35 as kickoff is scheduled for 7pm central. On 93.7FM, Chris will have coverage of the TDA/AC/DC at Gregory Game. Pre-game coverage will start at around 6:25 as kickoff is at 7pm.

Nominations for Winner Homecoming Parade Marshal due on Wednesday

Winner High School Student Council members are looking for the perfect candidate to be the 2026 Homecoming Parade Marshal.  If you have an individual who you feel deserves this honor, please send a detailed description of the individual’s background and why you feel he or she deserves to be Parade Marshal. Nominations can be emailed to Haley.Barfuss@K12.sd.us or mailed to 431 East 7th St., Winner SD 57580.  The deadline for nominations is September 9th. Homecoming is the week of September 21st – 25th.  The theme this year is Blast from the Past.

Fire reported Sunday morning in Mission

A fire broke out in Mission this morning at Sunrise Apartments.  Courtesy of the Mission Volunteer Fire and Rescue’s Facebook page, crews responded to a call early Sunday morning in the 5am hour at the Apartment Complex. Upon arrival, the department reported a working fire in three apartment units, along with smoke that was reported to be coming from the roof. As of late morning, the Mission Fire Department , along with other area Fire Departments and Cherry Todd Electric were continuing to put out hotspots from the fire. Further details will be revealed once they become available to us.

At the Pierre Invite,

Tea Area finished first as a team in Cheer with 278 points. Winner was fifth with 234 points. The grand champion in Dance was rapid City Central with 39 points. Winner was sixth with 34 points.

Volleyball

At the Gregory Invite, Bennett County won the Championship Match over Platte/Geddes. Burke won the third place match over Edgemont. Kadoka won the consolation championship match over Gregory.

At the BMW Tournament on Saturday at the Winner Country Club, the team of Skyler Best and Dan Duffy were victorious as they shot a 42.

At the 19th Hole 2 person Tournament on Saturday at the Gregory Golf Course, the team of David and Eli Fogel were victorious as they shot a 59.
