Golf

At the Ladies 2 person tournament Wednesday evening at the Burke Golf Course, the team of Lorraine Samuelson and Taylor Samuelson won the championship flight as they carded a 38. Taylor and Kathy Hrabanek won the first flight, while Katie Lutt and Amy Keiser won the second flight.

Dell Rapids wins the Class B Legion State Championship

Congratulations to Dan Miller and the Dell Rapids Legion Baseball team on winning the 2025 State B Legion Championship over Parkston in five innings this afternoon in Milbank, 11-0.  Dell Rapids scored twice in the first inning, three additional runs in the second, before having a big third inning scoring six times. Drake Eastman drove in four wins in the victory, while Tad Tjaden was the winning pitcher, as he pitched all five innings, scattering two hits and striking out eleven.

New event set for Saturday in Gregory

A new event will be put on by the Gregory/Dallas Chamber this Saturday, August 9th at the Gregory City Park from 9am to Noon called ‘Stomp, Chomp and Roar’. It’s a dinosaur-themed event featuring sensory stations for kids, and adults to learn more about the Jurassic period will happen. Children of all ages are welcome, but parents are encouraged to join. Local businesses will be set up along the walking trail of the city park with stations that will allow dinosaur lovers of all ages to touch, see, smell, taste and hear what it was like when dinosaurs roamed the Earth.
