Ainsworth will hold their FFA Banquet on Monday, April 27th. The banquet will take place inside the Ainsworth School Gym, beginning with a meal at 6:30pm, and an awards program will follow. The banquet is free and open to the public.

The Winner Volunteer Fire Department will hold their annual Fireman’s Dance tonight at the Winner Armory. Doors will open at 8pm, and the dance will begin at 9pm. Weston Frank will provide the music. You must be 21 to attend. Rides will be available to and from the dance within Winner City limits.
Chicken Supper to happen May 30th in Colome
The Colome Volunteer Fire Department will hold their annual chicken supper on May 30th from 5:30 to 8pm at the Colome Fire Hall. Stop by for a delicious supper and show your support for the hard working firemen!
Several fires reported in South Dakota and Nebraska on Wednesday
There were several fires in South Dakota and Nebraska last night, and into the overnight, including two large grass fires. One of those fires was northeast of Reliance, and the other east of Alexandria. The Reliance, Chamberlain, Lyman, Kennebec and Presho Fire Departments were paged out last night to the fire northeast of Reliance. There were also wildfires reported in Bon Homme County. Last evening, there were also severe thunderstorms for Stanley and Jones Counties. Multiple fires also broke out across Nebraska. A wildfire was reported burning across parts of Grant, Hooker and Cherry Counties, that saw an evacuation order for Whitman and the surrounding area. Multiple fire departments also responded, and were on the scene at two grassfires in northeast Nebraska. One fire was reported in Hubbard, that began shortly after 4pm. Authorities shut down Highway 11, south of Atkinson. A fire was located eight miles south of Atkinson on Wednesday evening. We will continue to update you on any further updates as they become available.
Pops Concert in Winner tonight
Winner Middle and High School band and choir members will hold their Pops Concert tonight beginning at 7pm in the Winner National Guard Armory. Stop by and enjoy some cowboy and Disney themed pieces of music!

Meyerink Farm Service closed today due to fire
Courtesy of their Facebook page, Meyerink Farm Service in Platte is closed today due to a recent fire. They send out a big thank you to the Platte Fire Department for their quick response, and they ask the public to please be patient as they clean things up.
One more night of the Big Bend Shrine Circus in Chamberlain
Incase you missed it on Monday, the Big Bend Shrine Circus is back tonight at the Chamberlain Armory! There will be two performances at 4:30 and 7:15. Cost for tickets per adult is $15, and it’s $10 for kids. Advance tickets can be purchased at Burke Oil, or by calling 730-0799.
