Per the Winner Police Department: Last Night approximately around 11:50 PM the Winner Volunteer Fire Department and Winner Police Department responded to a structure fire on Lamro Street. There were two fatalities. Names of the deceased are not being released pending notification of family members. This is an ongoing investigation as the cause of the fire is not yet known.

Local Area Proms Next Weekend
It will be a busy prom weekend in the area next weekend as Todd County Highschool, Gregory Highschool, Chamberlain Highschool, White River Highschool and Valentine Highschool will all hold their proms Saturday, April 9th.
Winner Regional Chili Feed Fundraiser Next Week
Tickets are still available for Winner Regional Foundation’s Chili Feed, Burger Challenge, and Comedy night that will take place Tuesday, April 5th from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the 4-H building in Winner. Tickets can be purchased at Winner Regional Health and Winner Family Drug.
Tripp County Clovervale 4-H Library Fundraiser
The Tripp County 4-H Clovervale 4-H Club is raising money for the Tripp County Library. They will be putting wooden pigs in residents’ yards in Winner and a $10 donation will get the pig removed from a yard. There is also the option of a $20 “insurance” donation to not have the pig put in one’s yard at all. To make a donation one can call Kim at 605-840-0053.
Winner Fire Department’s Annual Firemen’s Dance April 9th
The Winner Volunteer Fire Department will host their annual Firemen’s Dance on Saturday, April 9th at 9:00 p.m. at the Armory in Winner. Doors open at 8:00 p.m. with music that night provided by Brandon Jones. For more details one can phone 605-208-0100.
Harvest for Hunger Free Will Donation Lunch in Winner Tomorrow
CHS River Plains will host a Harvest for Hunger free will donation lunch in Winner, S.D. on tomorrow from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the CHS Agronomy Warehouse. The lunch will consist of Burgers and Brats. All proceeds will go to the local food pantry in Winner.
Area Proms Next Weekend
Several local area high schools will hold their proms on Saturday, April 2nd. Area Schools celebrating this week are Keya Paha High School, Ainsworth High School, and Platte-Geddes High School. KWYR News wishes all local area students a fun and safe prom next weekend.
Witten Volunteer Fire Department Soup Supper Tonight
The Witten Volunteer Fire Department will be holding their annual soup supper and pie auction this evening . Serving will start at 5:30 p.m. and there will be an auction to follow with many items donated by the community. This is a fundraiser in order to help raise funds for the fire department.
10th Annual BBQ Competition and Car Show in Winner
The 10th Annual Barbeque Competition and Car Show will take place on Main Street in Winner, S.D. on Saturday, July 30th. Check in for the Car show will take place from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. with the show kicking off at 4:00 p.m. and going to 7:00 p.m. Barbeque judging starts at 5:00 p.m. and tasting begins at 7:00 p.m.
Spaghetti Feed Fundraiser for Winner/Colome Trap Team
There will be a Spaghetti Feed Fundraiser on Tuesday, March 29th at the Tripp County 4-H Center from 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. This is a free will donation to raise money the Winner/Colome High School Trap team’s effort to travel to the national championship in Mason, Michigan.
