A major storm ripped through Burke and parts of Gregory County last night, as major damage has been reported to the Burke Civic Center, high school and gym, along with businesses, buildings and dwellings. Many power lines are also down this morning. Rosebud Electric is reporting that the city of Burke will be without power until at least tomorrow, and consumers from the north of Gregory to the Iona Area will be without power until at least tomorrow as well. The National Weather Service issued several warnings for Gregory County last night, most of which were of the severe thunderstorm variety. Burke also sought the assistance of several Central South Dakota fire departments last night, including the Winner Fire Department, to help with the damage. Winner Summer Nights
The third Winner Summer Nights of the summer will be Thursday, August 8th from 5:30pm to 9:00pm . Farm animals, sack races, a trick animal contest, a bounce house, live music by Weston Frank and more will all be apart of Thursday evenings festivities.

Rosebud Pheasants Annual Outdoor Youth Day
The Rosebud Pheasants Forever Chapter #99 is hosting its annual Outdoor Youth Day event on Saturday, August 17th. Puppet Show: Winner Community Playhouse
There will be a puppet show, “Dragons Are Too Seldom” at the Winner Community Playhouse on Tuesday, August 6th at 7pm. Prizes will be awarded to the participants of the summer reading program.
BBQ Pit Row
Barbecue Pit Row is happening in downtown Winner. Public tasting begins at 7pm tonight. Come enjoy a day of great music and fun, including a bean bag tournament and music requests on 93.7FM throughout the day and early evening. After Barbecue Pit Row, the Black Lab will have a live band outdoors. The Barbecue Pit Row is sponsored by the Winner Chamber of Commerce.
Chamberlain 25th Annual Car/Truck/Motorcycle Show and Shine
The Lakers “Mighty-Mo” Car Club 25th Annual Car/Truck/Motor Cycle Show and Shine will be taking place August 17th, 2019 at the American Creek Campground. If need be the alternate location will be South Main St. by the Avenue of Flags. Registration will be 10am to 12pm and the Show and Shine will kick off at 12pm. The cost of registration is $20.00 which includes a T-shirt.
Heavy Pockets Of Rain
Central South Dakota and Nebraska have seen pockets of heavy rain so far today with rain reports of 5 1/2 inches of rain in a short amount of time in Chamberlain today from Elaine Larson and the department of transportation reported that Iona received 8 inches of rain earlier today, prompting the closure of Highway 47. As of now Highway 47 is back open. The department of transportation also reported that they needed to use snow plows to clear debris near Iona.
Black Angus Bull Missing Colome Area
