Halloween reminders

Checkout the haunted house at the Cherry County Fairgrounds in Valentine tonight! The house will be open from 7 to Midnight. Bring the kids to the First Baptist Church in Winner tonight as they will have a box maze setup from 5:30 to 7, along with other activities and treats. The Avera Rosebud Country Care Center in Gregory will hold their annual door-to-door event tonight from 6 to 7 at the Avera Facility. A trunk or treat will happen at the Chamberlain Community Center from 5:30 t 7. Great Western Bank in Chamberlain invites the public to stop by from 3:30 to 5 as they will have refreshments in the lobby.

Get qualified on Rooster Country this week!

We encourage you to turn on your KWYR App or go to kwyr.com this week and listen to Rooster Country! Tuesday through Friday we will be taking one qualifier per day in our ‘Gettin’ Rich with Rooster Country’ sweepstakes. If you qualify, you will be entered into our big $500 cash prize giveaway that will take place early next month. When you hear the Rooster Country sounder, you will need to call 842-2250. Veterans Day Program coming up in Winner

Winner High School Student Council will be having a Veterans Day Program on November 12th starting at 10am. They are putting together a power point for the program and would love to get any veterans pictures for the program. Please drop off veterans photos to Mona Lacompte at Winner High School no later than Friday, November 2nd.

A few Halloween events for this weekend

If you are looking to get into the Halloween spirit this weekend, here are a few events that may catch your interest: A haunted house will be at the Cherry County Fairgrounds in Valentine, October 26th through the 28th from 7 to Midnight. They will be back on Halloween night too. A PreSchool Halloween Carnival will be held on Saturday from 11am to 2pm at the Chamberlain Community Center with carnival style games, a cake walk and a costume contest. The Halloween Monster Mash will be held in Platte this Friday from 4 to 8pm at the Community Building with a kids maze, photo booth, face painting and a witches ring toss.

Road Walk/Run to happen on Saturday

A ‘Stop Domestic Violence’ Road Walk/Run will be held this Saturday, October 27th starting at Noon at the UCC Church parking lot, and will end at the Milks Camp Community Center with lunch, family activities, speakers and resources.
