A Cattlemen’s Night Out will take place at Elevate Agronomics in Winner on September 11th. A dinner will be served at 6pm. The program featuring numerous different speakers will start at approximately 6:30pm.

On Tuesday afternoon around 4pm, Tripp County Sheriff, South Dakota Highway Patrol, Tripp County Ambulance and Winner and Colome Fire Departments responded to a 2 vehicle accident. One vehicle failed to yield to oncoming traffic causing the collision. 2 people were taken to the Gregory Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The Winner American Legion held their annual Labor Day Parade on Monday. The parade float winners were the ball teams to split the total prize money between the American Legion, Winner Gold, Winner Purple, Clearfield Sandburs Softball and Clearfield Sandburs Baseball. The antique vehicle winner was the Southern Belle Cattlewoman Association.

The Winner Ranch Rodeo will happen this afternoon at the Tripp County Arena. Calcutta will be at 1pm and the rodeo gets underway at 1:30. Come cheer on the contestants who will be in action!

The Winner American Legion’s annual Demolition Derby is happening this afternoon at the Tripp County Fairgrounds! Calcutta begins at 1pm. They have more cars than last year, and there’s over $10,000 in payouts!

The 13th annual Smoke on the Water Cook-Off will happen on Saturday, September 6th at the Oasis Campground in Oacoma. A car show will begin at 11am in the Riverview Chevrolet parking lot. The corn hole tournament will begin at 2pm, followed by the 30 guns in 30 minutes raffle starting at 3pm and the rib and brisket feed will begin at 5:30.

The Winner American Legion will hold their annual Labor Day Parade on Monday, September 1st! The theme is ‘100 years of American Legion Baseball’. The Parade Marshal will be Junior (JD) Olson. The parade will begin at 10am.

The Colome School District will close out their homecoming festivities tonight. Their parade will begin at 1pm this afternoon. Tonight, the Cowboy Football team will host Platte/Geddes at 7pm. Last night, Colome held coronation. Sam Brandsgaard was crowned homecoming king, while Gracie Rohde was crowned homecoming queen.
