Egg My House fundraiser being put on by the Colome Pink Ladies

The Colome Pink Ladies are holding an ‘Egg my House’ fundraiser! Children can wake up on Easter morning to a yard covered in plastic Easter Eggs filled with candy! The cost for the fundraiser is twenty five dollars per dozen and all proceeds will go to local cancer fighters. This is limited to the towns of Colome and Winner. You must RSVP by March 28th by calling Tara at 840-0280 or Chrissy at 840-0343.

A few weekend reminders

The Southern Belle Cattlewomen will hold crockpot/freezer meal workshops this Friday from 5-8pm and on Saturday from 10am-1pm at the Tripp County 4-H Center. The cost is thirty dollars. You must register by Wednesday. To register call Kris at 842-1647. The Reliance Volunteer Fire Department will hold their annual Rocky Mountain Oyster fundraiser and game feed this Saturday at the 6pm at the Reliance Fire Hall. A spaghetti supper will happen at St. Mary’s Hall in Winner on Saturday from 5-8pm. The event will be sponsored by the Knights of Columbus.

Blake Hoffman benefit coming up

There will be a benefit supper and pie auction for Blake Hoffman on Saturday, March 24th beginning at 6pm at the Colome American Legion. The pie auction will start at 7. Modern Woodman of America will be matching the funds. Blake was injured in a farm accident in January and is on a long road to recovery so please make plans to attend the event.

Blood drives coming up next week

A blood drive will be held on Monday, March 19th in Murdo from 1:30-5pm at the Jones County High School. To make an appointment call Katie at 669-2258. On Tuesday, March 20th, a blood drive will take place at the White River Community Events Center from 8am-12:45pm. To make an appointment call Tracy Tucker at 259-3137.

Dinner and Show to happen in Gregory tomorrow

The Gregory High School music students will present a dinner and a show tomorrow night at the Gregory Memorial Auditorium. Dinner will be served at 6:30 and the show will start at 7pm. Tickets are available today at Bankwest of Gregory, Consumer Federal Credit Union and at Gregory’s First Fidelity Bank. Limited seating is available.

St. Patty's weekend reminders

We have plenty going on for St. Patrick’s Day this weekend in the area! The 36th annual St. Patrick’s Day celebration will happen in Presho! Registration for the Shamrock Shuffle is at 10am at Jet Lanes. A full day of events is planned. The Kimball Legion will host a chili cook off on Saturday. Doors will open at 6pm. The Gregory Volunteer Fire Department will host their 35th annual St. Patrick’s Day Dance on Saturday night at the Gregory Auditorium to raise money to update their equipment at the Fire Department. A St. Patrick’s Day feed will be held Saturday at the Catholic Hall in White River. A free will offering will be taken and proceeds will go towards community projects. The Pheasant Bar in Winner invites you to stop by Saturday as they’ll be serving up corn beef and cabbage along with green beer and well drinks! Outlaw DJ will provide the tunes from 9 to closing.

Local St. Patrick's Day news

The 36th annual Presho St. Patrick’s Day celebration will take place on Saturday, March 17th in Presho. Registration for the Shamrock Shuffle is at 10am at Jet Lanes. Also on St. Patty’s Day will be the Kimball Legion’s Chili Cook Off! The event will happen at the Kimball Legion Hall. Doors will open at 6pm.

Big Dakota All-Conference Boys Basketball team revealed

The Big Dakota 2018 All Conference Boys Basketball team has been released. Chamberlain Senior Riggs Priebe made all conference along with Winner’s Brady Fritz and Todd County’s Aiden Bizardie. Louie Running Horse of Chamberlain and David Espinoza of Todd County made honorable mention. The Big Dakota Conference champions were Crow Creek, who are headed to the State ‘A’ Tournament next week.

Benefit to happen in Gregory Saturday

There will be a benefit Mountain Oyster feed and fish fry on Saturday, March 10th from 5-7pm with an auction to follow at Mary Bob’s in Gregory for Tim Mills and Marsha Peck, who are both fighting cancer. There will be a free will offering at the door. If you would like to donate for the auction you can drop off items at Cenex in Gregory or call Randy at 830-2559.
