Veterans Day Program to happen in Winner

Winner High School Student Council will be having a Veterans Day Program on November 12th starting at 10am. They are putting together a power point for the program and would love to get any veterans pictures for the program. Please drop off veterans photos to Mona Lacompte at Winner High School no later than Friday, November 2nd.

Wednesday reminders

It is sale day today at Platte Livestock Market! They will hold a regular cattle sale beginning at 9:30 this morning. Coming up tonight, there will be a Taco Festival in Chamberlain, running from 5 to 7pm at the United Church of Christ. It will be all you can eat so be sure to bring an appetite!

Burma qualifies on Rooster Country!

Coming up in early November, we will be giving away $500 in cash to one lucky person on Rooster Country during our ‘Gettin’ Rich with Rooster Country’ promotion! Taylor Burma of Gregory became our fourth qualifier on Tuesday as she called in when she heard the Rooster Country sounder. Stay tuned in the coming days to try and get qualified for the $500 cash drawing! Call 842-2250 when you hear the sounder. If you are the first to call, you will qualify.

Benefit to happen Saturday in Gregory

There will be a benefit for Austin McGee this Saturday, October 13th from 5-12 at the Gregory Memorial Auditorium. A free-will donation meal will be served, in addition to a raffle, silent and live auctions and a dance. Modern Woodman of America will match funds. Technology courses at Grossenburg Implement

If you have technology questions, like how to do certain things with your cell phone, tablet, email, Microsoft programs, Facebook etc. Grossenburg Implement in Winner will hold Technology classes on Friday’s from 1-2pm. Bull Riding Tour coming to Platte

The Northern Bull Riding Tour Finals will take place on Friday, October 19th in Platte at the Yellow Rose Arena. The Calcutta will start at 6:30pm and bull riding to follow. There will be a $3,000 added purse . For kids, a candy scramble will take place along with a steer riding event. The stock contractor will be Bierma Rodeo Company. Tickets will be fifteen dollars at the gate and twelve dollars in advance.

Zombie Walk coming up

A suicide awareness Zombie Walk will take place on October 27th in Mission. The event is sponsored by the Antelope Community Youth, Sicangu Youth and Community Corrections. Registration will begin at 5:30 in front of the Mission Gus Stop. The walk will start at 6pm. A light meal along with drinks will be provided.

Fall Festival coming up in Gregory

St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Gregory will be holding their “Fall Festival” next weekend. The event will be held on Sunday, October 14th from 11am to 1pm at Mary Vale Hall in Gregory. The brunch menu will include biscuits and gravy, french toast, pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs and more.

McCance qualifies on Rooster Country!

Karli McCance of Dallas on Wednesday became our second qualifier on Rooster Country for our ‘Gettin’ Rich with Rooster’ Promotion! Karli is the second of twenty entrants for our $500 cash drawing that will happen in early November. Be sure you are listening to Rooster Country this month for the Rooster Country sounder. Thursday reminders

Flu shots are happening today at Todd County Elementary School from 9am to 3pm for school district students and staff members. The Gregory Community Blood Drive will be held from 12:30 to 6pm at the Gregory Auditorium. Tonight, the Brule County Democrats will hold a fun night at the Chamberlain Country Club with a 6pm social and dinner to be served at 7:15.
