Get qualified on Rooster Country this week!

We encourage you to turn on your KWYR App or go to kwyr.com this week and listen to Rooster Country! Tuesday through Friday we will be taking one qualifier per day in our ‘Gettin’ Rich with Rooster Country’ sweepstakes. If you qualify, you will be entered into our big $500 cash prize giveaway that will take place early next month. When you hear the Rooster Country sounder, you will need to call 842-2250. Numerous Hunters breakfasts to happen this weekend

There are many hunters breakfasts that will be happening in our area this weekend for the pheasant opener. The Witten Volunteer Firemen will host their annual hunters breakfast this Saturday and Sunday from 7 to 11am each day at the Witten Community Hall. The breakfast will be held again next weekend on the 27th and 28th. The 8th annual Jones County Ambulance pancake and omelette breakfast will take place Saturday and Sunday at the Murdo Ambulance Building. The annual Tripp County 4-H Hunter’s Breakfast will happen this Saturday and Sunday from 7-11am at the Tripp County Fairgrounds inside the 4-H Center. Gregory Lanes will also be open for breakfast this Saturday and Sunday beginning at 7am.

2 Hearts Walk and Run to happen on Sunday

The 1st annual 2 Hearts Walk and Run will be held this Sunday, October 21st beginning at 1pm in Winner. Help make a difference in the community for those who suffer from depression. This event is in honor of Suicide Prevention Week. After the walk and run, everyone will meet at the Winner Middle School Gym for a lunch and a speech given by Nanette Eagle Star and Kansas Middletent. Maggie Welch qualifies on Rooster Country!

Incase you missed the big news yesterday, Maggie Welch of Winner became our eighth qualifier in our ‘Gettin’ Rich with Rooster Country’ sweepstakes! Maggie was the first to call us when the Rooster Country sounder went off. Maggie now has a chance at $500 cash when we have our drawing in early November. 4-H Hunter's Breakfast set for this weekend

The annual Tripp County 4-H Hunter’s Breakfast will be held on Saturday, October 20th and on Sunday, October 21st from 7-11am both days inside the Tripp County 4-H Center at the Fairgrounds. The breakfast is all you can eat and the menu includes: pancakes, ham and eggs, coffee, milk and juice. Proceeds from the breakfast will go towards support of the 4-H programs in Tripp County.

Get your sealed bids in for the Gregory Football game!

The Gregory Gorillas will play Baltic in the first round of the high school football playoffs this Thursday at 6pm. The Gregory Athletics Club has added another private booth. You now have four chances to win a private booth for the game! Sealed bids must be sent in to Bankwest of First Fidelity Bank in Gregory by Noon on Thursday. The highest bidders will be notified this week.

Platte to host Bull Riding Tour on Friday night

The Northern Bull Riding Tour Finals will take place on Friday, October 19th in Platte at the Yellow Rose Arena. The Calcutta will start at 6:30pm and bull riding to follow. There will be a $3,000 added purse . For kids, a candy scramble will take place along with a steer riding event. The stock contractor will be Bierma Rodeo Company. Tickets will be fifteen dollars at the gate and twelve dollars in advance.

Community Blood Drives to be held this month

The Platte Community will be having a blood drive on Monday, October 15th from 12:30 to 6pm at the Platte Community Center. Later this month, the Burke Community will host a blood drive on October 30th from 11:30am to 5:15 at the Burke Civic Center Gym. If you have questions call 775-2043.
