Wednesday morning rain reports

We had a few rain reports called in to the KWYR Studios this morning. Stan Bicek, ten miles south of Colome, received .25. Pete Haukaas in Okreek reported .16. Four miles southeast of Burke, Delbert Klein received 2.85 on Tuesday. Dennis Hansen at Carlock reported .60 while Laura Reuer in Herrick called in an inch of rain.

Welcome Neighbor Day coming to Mission

A Welcome Neighbor Day is coming up at the Mission City Park on Saturday, September 15th beginning at 10am with registration. Registration will be done for the bike and car show. The show is being sponsored by the Sicangu Drifters Bike Club. Sausage and pancakes will be served from 11 to noon. A horseshoe tournament and hot dog feed will be sponsored by the Legion Riders. Water Fights will take place between the Rosebud VFD and the Mission VFD.  There will be plenty of games provided for the kids and music by Walt Hernandez. A co-ed softball tournament will happen throughout the day as well. A 5k walk/run will be sponsored by the BIA Fire department. That will start at 9am at the City Park pool area.

Agrimax/West River Ag to hold open house on the 20th

A fall customer appreciation open house will be hosted by Agrimax and West River Ag Services of Winner on Thursday, September 20th with a social hour starting at 4pm. Food and drinks will be provided at the event. They will have some great early booking specials too. The open house will take place at 31710 Harvest Road in Winner. Dart League meeting to happen tomorrow

Gregory Lanes is looking for dart teams or individuals for league darts for the upcoming season. If your interested in playing this year, plan to attend the Gregory Dart League meeting that is scheduled to happen this week. The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, September 5th starting at 8pm. Keya Paha County students gearing up for Homecoming

The Keya Paha High School Homecoming is set for September 21st! The football team will battle the Boyd County County Spartans at 7pm that night. The parade will start at 2:30 on Friday with the line-up at the High School by 2pm. The theme for the parade this year is ‘Board Games’. Spirit Days will go as follows: Monday- Twins Day. Tuesday- Circle of Life- either dress like a baby or the elderly. Wednesday- JH/HS: Teacher Day (Dress like your favorite teacher). Thursday- Decade Day- Dress like you were living in a different decade. Friday- Spirit Day- wear your jerseys and team shirts.

City of Winner to prep for Labor Day weekend on Saturday

The City of Winner has approved closing the Main Street and 3rd and Main intersection at 9am on Saturday, September 1st in preparation for the family fun entertainment on Main Street for Labor Day weekend. Main Street will remain closed until 7pm or shortly thereafter on Monday, September 3rd. The family fun entertainment on Main Street will include big inflatables, food vendors and the Escape Unit. The event runs from 5-10pm on Saturday, 1-10 on Sunday and from 11-6 on Monday.

Gregory reminders for next week

Coming up on Wednesday, September 5th in Gregory will be joint screenings for families with kids ages three to five. For appointments, call 835-9672. The 2019 Gregory After Prom Party Committee will be hosting a Color Run on September 8th at 1pm. Registration will begin at 12:30 on the south side of the Gregory City Park. The cost will be $15 per participant. Also happening on the 8th will be the Bankwest Harvest Festival starting at 5pm at the City Park! There will be soup tasting, buggy rides, bouncy houses, face painting and more.

Winner Summer Nights set for tonight!

The final ‘Winner Summer Nights’ event for the summer will be held tonight on Main Street! Stop by between 5:30 and 9pm as we will be celebrating Winner Livestock Auction’s 85 year anniversary. There will be a rain simulator, SDNG inflatables, roping dummies, a money dig, duck pond, candy scramble, winner rocks and weiner dog races! Live music will be provided by Westbound throughout the night too.
