American Island Days will run Friday through Sunday this weekend in Chamberlain! Coming up on Saturday, they will have Crazy Days, inflatables for the kids, a DJ, little cowpokes Olympics, the Mighty Mo Car Show, Statewide Ag Olympics, boat rides, minnow races, the Zoo mobile, watermelon eating contest, chicken races, a frog jumping contest, bean bag tournament and more!

Hay Days begin Friday in Atkinson
The 78th annual Atkinson Hay Days will get run August 17th through the 19th! On Friday, they will be serving riblets, brisket, chicken, beef and pork sandwiches from 10am-7pm across the Roadrunner. One dollar bowling will be offered from 11am-10:30pm at the Bowling Alley. A pig catching contest will run from 5-6pm at the lot south of the Sandhills Guest House. A hay maze will happen from 6-7pm at the lot east of the Guest House. The Ranch Rodeo on Friday starts at 7pm and a coronation dance will wrap up Friday night’s festivities from 9-1 at the Atkinson Community Center.
Tuesday reminders
A mandatory inservice for Todd County School District drivers will be held today from 10am-3pm. This applies to anyone who ever drives a district vehicle. A “Back to School” Night, open house and cookout for the Lyman School District will be held later today from 4 to 6pm at the Presho and Kennebec Schools to celebrate the start of the 2018 school year!
Pick up enrollment applications for the Rosebud Dorm!
Applications for enrollment into the Rosebud Dorm for the School Year can be picked up at the Sicangu Wayward OTI in Mission. Applications will be accepted on a daily basis Monday through Thursday from 8am-5 and on Friday’s from 8am-noon. Registration for this school year will be on the following dates: Tuesday, August 14th, Wednesday, August 15th and Thursday, August 16th from 10am-6pm. If you have questions, call 856-4486.
Farm and Ranch Clinic set for next week
Farmers and Ranchers are invited to attend a free clinic in Valentine on Thursday, August 23rd. The clinic are one-on-one, not group sessions, and are confidential. Gregory After Prom Committee to offer a lunch stand this weekend
The Gregory After Prom Party Committee will be having a lunch stand available to the public this Sunday, August 12th from 11am-1:30pm in the Buche Foods parking lot. They will be serving all-beef hot dogs, brats, hamburgers and cheeseburgers with a variety of drinks. Please stop by after church and support the 2019 Gregory After Prom Party this weekend!
