The third Colome Area Farmers Market of the season will happen at the Colome City Park today from 4:30-7! Stop by and grab some home-grown produce, handmade breads, jams, jellies, baked goods, hand-crafted items, honey, eggs, meats and more. There will be returning vendors from last week’s market along with some new vendors too!

A grinding away at cancer benefit for Paul Storms will be held on Tuesday, August 7th at St. Mary’s Hall in Winner. Doors will open at 5:30 with a free will offering dinner beginning at 6pm as they will be serving hamburgers, hot dogs, baked beans and chips. Items may also be dropped off at these locations.

The Burke Men’s Association Dog Daze Street Dance will be held on Saturday, August 4th! The opening act will be “11 Year New” playing from 7 to 9pm. Dustin Evans & the Good Times Band will then play from 9 to 1. Advance tickets are ten dollars and can be purchased at Stella’s, Green’s Grocery and at the Burke Building Center. Tickets at the gate will cost fifteen dollars.

All cancer survivors, caregivers and family members are invited to attend the 19th annual Relay for Life of Charles Mix County this Saturday, July 28th at the Platte Legion from 10am-4pm. The Miss Rodeo Cherry County is adding a Cherry County Rodeo Princess Contest and is open to girls ages nine through fourteen as of January 1st. The contest will take place this Friday, July 27th and on Saturday, July 28th and entries are due by the end of today. We have three big area rodeos happening this weekend! The 2nd annual Charles Mix Saddle Club’s SDRA Rodeo will get underway at 7pm tonight at the Geddes Rodeo Arena. Rodeo performances will happen Friday through Sunday at 7pm and the rodeo is sponsored by the Charles Mix Saddle Club and other local businesses. The Burke Stampede Rodeo will get underway tonight at the Burke Rodeo Arena! Performances will start at 7pm Friday through Sunday. The 9th annual Murdo Ranch Rodeo will happen on Saturday starting at 4:30 with a calcutta and the ranch rodeo will follow.
