Rosebud Electric will be having a planned power outage on Thursday, May 8th starting at 10:00 am, and will last around 2 hours. This outage will affect the north half of the town of Witten and the townships of Witten, Greenwood, Curlew, Pahapesto, Lonetree, Progessive and the Northwest portion of Carter town ship including the town of Carter itself. Crews will be doing maintenance in the Witten area. If you have any questions, please call the office at 605-835-9624. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Winner Legion Auxiliary to put poppies on crosses on May 13th
On Tuesday, May 13th, the Winner Legion Auxiliary will be putting poppies on all the crosses that will be put on veterans’ graves. The poppies will be done at 1pm at the Avenue of Flags building, which is 2 blocks north of First Fidelity Bank. Please come and help if you are able.

Ringling’s win Platte Chamber Fishing Tournament
The Platte Area Chamber of Commerce held their annual fishing tournament on Saturday at Platte Creek Recreation Area. The team of Reggie, Ross and Jack Ringling were the winning team. It was the 29th year that the Chamber held the tournament.
Rummage Sale happening today at St. John Lutheran Church in Gregory
The Gregory Lutheran Youth are hosting a Rummage Sale today from 8AM-3PM at St. John Lutheran Church in Gregory. All proceeds go toward sending the youth to the national youth gathering in New Orleans this summer. Many donations of things such as clothing for everyone, luggage, baskets, housewares, furniture, decor, toys, exercise equipment and much more will be accepted.

Stacy Halverson verbally accepts Superintendent position
The Winner School Board held interviews for a new Superintendent today. Stacy Halverson was offered the position and has verbally accepted. Keven Morehart recently announced his retirement as Superintendent of the Winner School District. We will bring you further details after the May 12th Board meeting.
