Baseball from Friday

At Leahy Bowl last night, the Winner Teeners beat Onida, 13-3. Aiden Barfuss was solid on the mound as he went five innings and struck out eleven. Ashton Klein drove in three runs for Winner while Owen Duffy drove in two. In Amateur Baseball Friday, the Winner/Colome Pheasants picked up a big victory on the road as they took down the Alexandria Angels, 5-3. Derek Graesser was terrific on the mound as the big righty went eight strong innings. Connor Hopkins came on to slam the door for the save.

Baseball from Wednesday in Gregory

Three baseball games took place on Wednesday night in Gregory. In Junior Teener Baseball, Gregory and Winner tied in game 1 of their doubleheader. Final score was 6-6. Game two, Winner defeated Gregory, 4-3. In the teener game, Gregory beat Winner by a final of 10-5.

Lake Platte Golf Course hiring

Fun weekend ahead at Medicine Creek Golf Course

A glow ball fun night will take place this Friday, June 12th beginning at 6pm at the Medicine Creek Golf Course in Presho. A chicken dinner will be served at 8 and the glow ball will start at dark. To register your two person team, call 895 2659. On Saturday, June 13th, a two person, par three scramble will take place at the Medicine Creek Golf Course with an 11am shotgun start time. Hole-in-one prizes include $10,000 in cash, Callaway golf clubs, a 55″ 4K HD Smart TV and a $500 Visa gift card.  Call the clubhouse to get signed up.

Results from Sunday

At the Murdo 2 man golf scramble Sunday, the team of Tom and Joe Cameron were victorious as they shot a 68. In amateur baseball, Mt. Vernon beat Winner/Colome, 13-3. The South Central Storm beat Colome, 13-2. Plankinton beat Chamberlain in 7 innings, 13-1. In junior teener baseball at Leahy Bowl yesterday, Tyndall beat Winner 9-4.. Winner then beat Tyndall, 6-5. In Rapid City for girls 16u softball Sunday, the Rockers beat the Winner Lightning, 19-8.

Get signed up for the Frontier Motors Open!

The Frontier Motors Open Golf Tournament will take place on Saturday, June 20th at the Winner Country Club with a 10:30 am shotgun start. It will be a two man format and the cost is $150 if you get entered before this Wednesday, June 10th. The cost will be $175 after Wednesday. To signup, call 842-0686. Baseball, Softball and Golf from Saturday

At the Frontier Bar Golf Tournament Saturday in Winner, the team of Jim Halverson and Lucas Jedlicki were victorious as they shot a 70. In Legion Baseball on Saturday, Gregory County beat Hamlin at Leahy Bowl, 13-3. Rhoss Oliver drove in a run and had two hits while Jakob Rinker had two runs batted in. In game two, Winner/Colome defeated Gregory County, 8-4. Hunter Van Nuewenhuis, Rhoss Oliver and Jakob Rinker finished with two hits apiece for Gregory County. For Winner/Colome, Jesse Colson and Landon Theiman finished with two hits apiece. Colson drove in three runs while Evan Farner had two runs batted in. Softball from Saturday, the Winner 16U team fell to the Wicked 16U squad, 9-7. The Lightning then fell to the Rapid City Rage, 7-3 before Winner lost to the Crush, 3-2. In Amateur Baseball Saturday night, Winner/Colome defeated Dimock/Emery, 14-4 in seven innings. JJ Farner went the distance on the mound as he had seven strikeouts. Sean Kammerer had a good night at the dish for the Pheasants as he went 3-4 with an rbi. Reed Harter was 2 for 3 with two runs batted in while Dillion Lambley was 2-4 with 3 rbi.

Baseball scores from Friday

At Leahy Bowl last night, the Winner Teeners beat Hamlin, 10-7. Pierce Nelson and Aiden Barfuss paced the top of the Winner lineup as they finished with three hits apiece. Barfuss drove in three runs in the victory. Joey Cole had two runs batted in for Winner. In Legion Baseball, Winner/Colome shutout Hamlin, 3-0. Joren Bruun was the winning pitcher as he went the distance on the mound striking out thirteen and allowing just one hit and one walk. Oscar Pravecek had two hits and two runs batted in.

Golf and Baseball results from Thursday

We had golf and a few amateur baseball games take place on Thursday. At the Lake Platte Golf Course, the team of Sherm Cutler and Al Sime were victorious in the Seniors Tournament as they finished with a 12 under, 58. In Amateur Baseball, Mt. Vernon won a high scoring game in Platte as the Mustangs beat the Killer Tomatoes, 17-8. Grant Lang drove in three runs for Platte. In Gregory, the South Central Storm beat Chamberlain, 12-2. In White Lake, Zak Wallner struck out 20 to lead Kimball/White Lake to a 6-3 win over Plankinton.
