Winner Summer Baseball update
The following is a statement from John Calhoon with the Winner Baseball Association, in regards to summer baseball in Winner.
The Winner Baseball Association met Friday evening to make some decisions regarding summer baseball. We voted in favor of going forward with a limited season of 14U, 16U and 18U baseball this summer with some conditions. We won’t start games until after June 5th and we are not going to provide team travel/vans like we have the past few years. Kevin Keiser & Trent Olsen will be coaching the 14U team, Shane Phillips the 16U team and Kory Foss the 18U/Legion team. We will be having a signup in the next few days and likely organized practices the later part of next week.
I’ll be working on the schedule the next couple weeks and looking for fairly local H/A games in June. We have cancelled our early season tournaments that we normally host for 14U and 16U due to conflicts with graduation, prom etc. Quite a few towns are going forward with summer baseball in some form, but organized postseason play is still uncertain at this point. I’m confident we can get 10 or more games scheduled for each team and then we’ll see how things play out the next few weeks regarding tournaments in July or postseason play.
