MEALS WILL BE SERVED STARTING THE 1ST TUESDAY IN JUNE FOR THE SAME PRICE AS LAST YEAR.

Hammerbeck and Sayler named Spirit of Su award winners
Winner Lady Warrior Senior Basketball player Morgan Hammerbeck received the Girls Class ‘A’ Spirit of Su Award this week! White River Senior Nick Sayler won the Boys Class ‘B’ Spirit of Su Award. Both Sayler and Hammerbeck were named to second team all-state this season. Congratulations to Nick and Morgan on the tremendous recognition!
Amateur Baseball schedules starting to roll out
More and more amateur baseball schedules are starting to come out across the state of South Dakota. The Colome Chaos will open their season on Sunday, May 31st as they will play at Chamberlain. Kimball/White Lake will open their season on the road on the 31st at the South Central Storm. The Platte Killer Tomatoes are gearing up for their opener on the 28th of May as they play at Alexandria.
Ladies Fishing Tournament coming up next month in Chamberlain
A Ladies Only, Fishing for a Cure Fishing Tournament is set to take place on Saturday, June 27th in Chamberlain. A rules meeting will be held the night prior to the tournament at the Chamberlain Community Center. The tournament will happen at the Smokin’ Mule American Creek Marina. Sacred Hoops to hold basketball workouts in Kimball and White Lake
Kimball/White Lake will be hosting Sacred Hoops basketball workouts this summer. Workouts will take place in both Kimball and White Lake beginning June 3rd. The following are dates for workouts: June 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th, July 15th and the 22nd. Workouts are open to those entering grades 4-12, and the cost is $16 per session for 4th through 6th graders, while the cost for 7th through 12th graders is $20.
Vikings schedule for 2020-2021
NFL schedules were released for the 2020-2021 season on Thursday night. The Vikings will open the season at home on September 13th against Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers. This marks the first time in franchise history that the Vikings will open the season at home against Green Bay. Week 2, the Vikings will battle Philip Rivers and the Colts on the road. September 27th, Minnesota will welcome Tennessee to town. Week 4, the Vikings will go to Houston in the first weekend of October. October 11th, Minnesota will turn around and play at Seattle. Week 6, the Atlanta Falcons come to the Twin Cities. The Vikings have their bye week in week 7. November 1st, Minnesota goes to Green Bay. Week 9, the Detroit Lions play at Minnesota. In week 10, Minnesota will play on Monday Night Football at Chicago. Week 11, the Vikings will host Dallas. In week 12, the Carolina Panthers head to Minnesota. Week 13, Minnesota will host Jacksonville. Week 14, the Vikings will face Tom Brady at Tampa Bay on December 13th. Week 15, the Bears go to Minnesota. In week 16, the Vikings play on Christmas Day at New Orleans at 2:30. Week 17, Minnesota ends the regular season at Detroit on January 3rd.
Chamberlain to hold Catfish Tournament next month
The 4th annual catfish tournament will be held June 6th and the 7th in Chamberlain. A rules meeting will take place on Saturday starting at 7pm in the Cedar Shore parking lot. The largest weight of one catfish will win the tournament. The cost is 80 dollars per team as the first 19 teams who sign up will be entered. If you have questions, call Ray Pickner at 730-0216.
Killer Tomato Amateur Baseball team to hold golf tournament
The Platte Killer Tomato Amateur Baseball team will hold their annual golf tournament on May 30th at the Lake Platte Golf Course. 50 dollar team entry fee. Registration is at 9am and shotgun start is 10am. There will be some great pin prizes and door prizes. The front 9 will be scotch while the back 9 will be a scramble. Central South Dakota rodeo dates for the summer
It should be another entertaining summer of rodeo action in Central South Dakota. Here are some of the big dates to jot down. Regional Qualifying rodeo will take place June 12th through the 14th in Winner. The Burke 4H Rodeo will be held June 26th and the 27th. The Brule County 4-H Rodeo will happen July 11th in Chamberlain. The Winner Elk’s Rodeo is set to take place July 24th through the 26th.
Sign Up/Fun Nights in Chamberlain this week
A couple of signup/fun nights will take place this week at the Chamberlain Country Club. A men’s signup/fun night will happen on Tuesday. Men’s League play will get underway on Tuesday, May 12th. A signup/fun night for lady golfers in Chamberlain will be held this Wednesday. Ladies League play at the Chamberlain Country Club will start May 13th.
