Day 1 of State Volleyball at the Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls

Class ‘A’

The 2018 State Volleyball Tournaments will get underway tomorrow in Sioux Falls at the Denny Sanford Premier Center. In Class A, top seeded Miller (28-2) will battle eight seeded Rapid City Christian (25-12) beginning at Noon Central. In game two at 1:45, four seeded Winner (26-3) will battle five seeded Elk Point-Jefferson, who is 27-5. At 6pm, three seeded Sioux Falls Christian (28-8) will play six seeded Parker (26-7). In the nightcap at 7:45, two seeded McCook Central/Montrose will play seven seeded Aberdeen Roncalli, who sits at 21-6 this year. In Class B at noon, top seeded Northwestern (35-2) will battle the 22-7, eight seeded Kimball/White Lake squad. At 1:45, four seeded Faith (29-1) will play five seeded Faulkton Area (25-6). At 6pm, three seeded Chester Area (25-5) will play six seeded Ethan, who is 27-6. In the nightcap at 7:45, seven seeded Burke (29-7) will take on two seeded Warner (33-2). Due to our coverage of the State Volleyball Tournaments this week, Coaches Corner will return next week. Chris Doski will be recapping state volleyball with Billie Jo Indahl, Jamie Keiser and Sarah Deffenbaugh on Saturday, November 24th at 9am. Doski’s Sports Zone program will return on Thursday, November 29th as he will be joined by Casey Hutmacher to talk about the week of games in the NFL.

Three of our area football teams were very well represented in the Missouri Valley Football All-Conference teams that were released on Tuesday. Kimball/White Lake had five guys make all conference- Carter Fredericksen, Bo Donald, Tyler Resick, Justin Becker and Kordel Kiehn landed on the all-conference squad. Gregory saw JJ Beck, Caleb Stukel, Tyler Murray, Ethan Dargatz and Quinton McMillen make all-conference. Kade Starr and Stewart Van Zee of Platte/Geddes made it on the all-conference team as well.

Chris Doski will return with another edition of ‘Vikings Visit’ today! Chris and a local Minnesota Vikings fan will talk about Minnesota’s season along with the big Sunday night showdown for this weekend against the Bears. The program will air at around 3:45 on Country 1260 and at around 7:10 tonight on 93.7FM.
