Coaches Corner to air on Saturday

Our season premiere of ‘Coaches Corner’ will air this Saturday, August 18th on Country 1260 beginning at 9am! Chris Doski will be your host as he will visit with at least nineteen of our area fall sports coaches talking football, volleyball, boys golf, cross country and cheer and dance. The program will air each and every Saturday throughout the fall and winter sports seasons from 9 to around 11am on Country 1260.

Preseason Volleyball Poll is out

The South Dakota Preseason Media Volleyball Poll was released on Monday. In Class A, the top ranked team is Sioux Falls Christian while Miller is ranked second. Winner is receiving votes. In Class B, Northwestern is the top ranked team in the preseason while Warner is ranked second and Burke is receiving votes.

 

Coverage from Scotland and Sioux Falls on Friday

Our coverage for the 2018 High School Football season will kickoff this Friday as Chris Doski will be in Scotland and Scott Schramm will head to Sioux Falls. On Magic 93, Chris will have coverage of the Burke-Scotland contest. His pre-game show will start at around 6:30. On Country 1260 for Friday night, Scott and Brett Gardner will call the Winner-Sioux Falls Christian showdown as pre-game will start at around 6:30.

Crow Eagle wins Open Tournament

Congratulations to Rich Crow Eagle on winning the championship flight of Sunday’s Open Tournament at the Winner Country Club! Rich shot a 106 to hold off Rick Gödel by five strokes. Mark Oberle won the presidential flight as he shot a 121, two shots better than Casey Berndt and Larry Aaker. On Friday, the team of Justin and Kara Zeigler won the Winner Lady Warrior two person scramble that took place.

State B Amateur Baseball in Sioux Falls

Amateur Baseball from Friday- Angels go down

It was quite the game between Flandreau and Alexandria last night at the State B Amateur Baseball Tournament in Sioux Falls. Flandreau was able to take down the Angels in 13 innings, 4-3 on Keith Cutler’s game winning single. Cutler also homered in the victory for the Cardinals. In the other amateur game last night, Harrisburg beat Madison, 6-4.

Baseball from Thursday

At the State B Amateur Baseball Tournament in Sioux Falls last night, the Canova Gang slugged their way to a 19-9 victory over the Parkston Mudcats. In game two, the Garretson BlueJays beat the Milbank Firechiefs by a final score of 5-2. In Major League Baseball yesterday, the Cleveland Indians for the second consecutive game scored a walkoff victory over Minnesota. Cleveland beat the Twins on Thursday, 5-4.
